W9R3 - Yeeeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!!! I finally did it! I graduated :) :) :)

I was really tired this morning and didn't get out until 7-15 am and found it very warm. I felt a bit nauseous too but carried on regardless. I didn't get quite as far today before the halfway mark but that's not surprising as I was going a bit slower due to the warm weather and general tiredness.

I think I went a bit faster on the second half and felt so good getting home. When I walked into the kitchen, my hubby (who is on a day off from work) stood there and clapped and I just burst into tears. It's made me really emotional to know what I've achieved in the past 9 weeks. I'm so proud of myself, not only for completing it but for doing it without having to repeat any of the runs and I really thought I would struggle to do that.

It is amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it.

A huge thank you to everyone on here who has helped motivate me, support me and generally cheer me on throughout this programme. You are all amazing! :)

REMEMBER - IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

:) :) :) :) :)

[By the way, I tried to upload a photo but it kept saying "Whoops! Looks like there was a problem uploading your image". I've no idea why this happened. The photo was within size limits. Hey ho.]

Congratulation's Pigpog feel proud of what you have achieved. Don't get too hung up on how the run went, things happen in life which affects our performance.Keep up the good work you are now in the Consolidation Club and just get used to running 30 minutes for 3 times a week.

Post your achievement in the thread and the admins will award you with your shiny virtual graduation badge that will appear next to your name and you will find plenty of ideas for post C25k.

Enjoy the rest the journey

Fantastic news Pigpog just read your post and it has improved my day already. Good on your hubby for supporting you. You’re a runner.

Thank you, PlasticUnitedFan! Glad I improved your day. I guess I am a runner now, although I still refer to myself as the jogging snail 🐌🐌🐌🤣🤣🤣

YESSSSSSS!!!!! Get in there! Fantastic effort. How good does that feel ehh? Enjoy today, then maybe think about the 30min runs, sorry, consolidation runs (don’t want the description police on here to pull me again!). I’m through them now & running around 45mins hassle free now. You’ve got all that to look forward too! Well done again. Enjoy the celebrations. x

Thank you, Norkparkrunner! Wow! 45 minute runs eh? You're so nailing this. You inspire me to run better 😁😁😁🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Do keep at 30 minutes maximum for a few weeks.

You haven't really done that much running as a new graduate of C25K and your body is still adjusting.

Pigpog profile image
PigpogGraduate in reply to nowster

Don't worry, nowster, I'm not planning or able to run for longer than 30 minutes. I don't want to get any injuries so I'll be taking it very slowly, trust me! With my history of ruptured Achilles, shortened calf muscle and tight hamstring in my left leg, I'll be going very gingerly. I'm not in any rush to run for longer until I feel very comfortable doing 30 minutes. And I should think that will be quite a few weeks if not months! Thank you for your concern 😁

nowster profile image
nowsterGraduate in reply to Pigpog

I also have tight hamstrings, especially in left leg, which resulted in my recent muscle pull on the other leg when I was doing a long run. I was advised by a physio to get a foam roller.

Pigpog profile image
PigpogGraduate in reply to nowster

Did you get a foam roller? If so, let me know if it's working for you. I take it you do all the necessary stretches before and after your runs?

nowster profile image
nowsterGraduate in reply to Pigpog

I did get a foam roller. I have to admit I haven't used it religiously.

I do do all the post-run stretches now. I did skimp a bit on the "lying down" ones at the end, and that didn't help the situation.

My warm up stretches are a combination of ones from my physio and also from James Dunne.

You’ll be doing that easily in no time!
