Well I am delighted to say that we (Mrs_First_Time_Rnr and I) got out there extra early this morning before I had to head off to work. Undeterred by the showery blustery weather at 6.25am we did it!! W9R3 done and we feel amazing and proud.
The end of a ten week journey for us (took a half week break at W7 due to a calf injury - be careful out there people ). I am sure we will be continuing and enjoying the health boosts - both physical and mental - for a long time to come.
I may post on this forum infrequently - and Mrs_First_Time_Rnr even less so - but The forum is invaluable. I want to say well done to all involved in the healthunlocked forum. The posts with enthusiasm, support and good vibes together with wise advise and tips have been wonderful. This is a great community. Well done to all for making it so.
Around week five I really found motivational the posts describing how many on the C25k find the challenge to be predominantly a positive mental attitude. You are physically ready W5R3 is more a meantal battle.
Particular thanks to Iannoda Truffe who clearly does a lot to support others on their c25k journey. I definitely recommend everyone check out the WEEK 5 MYTHS BUSTED!! Post.
I have to say I went into W5R3 feeling “we got this” and no doubts at all we could succeed. Thank you.
As an overweight early forties guy with a desk job the health boost is invaluable. I don’t mind sharing that we managed 3.75Km on the run today no stops or walking and plan to consolidate. We will keep gradually increasing the time we run until we reach the 5km mark and I will post back here the time. As I’ve read and will repeat its ok to not be at 5km in the 30mins at the end of W9.
Enjoy the runs everybody and enjoy the health boost. I am off to find the May graduates thread and looking forward to requesting a well earned graduate badge.
All the best
Michael

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS 🍾🎊🎈 to BOTH of you for all your hard work and dedication through this journey.! What a moment that is!! All the best to your future health and runs together. So nice you did this together and now you’ve developed a healthy lifestyle together for years to come. Wonderful 😊
Thank you. I count myself really lucky. We give each other extra motivation whenever needed to get on and do this.
We tried a new route for a walk on one of the rest days and discovered a beautiful riverside walk not far away at all. It’ll probably feature as a new run route for us sometime soon.
That is splendid news indeed. I do hope that there is no competition between you for who gets to 10K first???
My money is on...
Wow that’s fantastic! Congrats to you both! I have just the three week 9 runs left to do l. Ankle is a bit sore and the weather isn’t the best but I’m so looking forward to graduating!
Thank you for posting, I am entering week 8 and did wonder how far people were running, well done for completing the programme, you should be very proud 👏👏👏
