Never believed that I would write these words. But 'tis true. Started running school in Jan and decided to continue plodding after completing C25K. The April consolidation running working and 'cements' the rhythm - at least for me. Its still hard, but becoming more rewarding. Today conditions were 'right'. Felt strong, weather overcast, cool, some drizzle, not many folk out. Ran my first +7km in just over an hour (yes I'm slowww). Was my first +60 minutes plod. The surprise was that at the end I felt good to continue, but decided no - that's for another day. On return, wife asked if I ran 5k in 16 mins like the schoolgirl. Told her and she said 'buy young girl runs 3 times faster than you'. Yes I said, but at the end I'm 3 times more tired than her :)

Onward we go ...

You should have told your wife that you did run that 5K in 16 minutes like that 12 years old girl from Belfast, I am not sure she would have believed you.

Finding your own comfortable pace is a major step and comparison with anyone else is futile and unproductive.

Sounds to me like you are a happy runner.

Keep running, keep smiling.
