Slowly!

I’m new here! Started 4 months ago on the c25k journey, now on week 2. Might move on to week 3 at some point but maybe not. I’ve never been competitive so just delighted to still be out ‘running’ every other day. I’ve never knowingly taken physical exercise in my life so at the tender age of 62 I’m thrilled to bits! Just do what you feel happy with, don’t measure yourself against others and don’t worry how you look (I need a haircut). Best wishes x

Well done! You have absolutely the right attitude, it's just good to be out there

Your are so right. It took me a long time to not look at others pace, times and distances etc. Just do what keeps you happy. Getting out and putting one foot in front of the other is the biggest step. Well done.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

There is nothing wrong with repeating runs.........after you graduate you will do it all the time.......but why are you not progressing more? Are you running too fast? Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

You might find the post linked to in the guide about mental approach food for thought.

Enjoy your journey.
