Running day after Covid 19 Vaccine

Did anyone run the day after having their Covid Vaccine? I had mine yesterday morning and feel okay - just a slight headache. I want to - as it's my 2nd running day of the week - but I don't want to risk over taxing my immune system if it's already working hard to create the protection for Covid ?

The day after nine was my rest day anyway .I ran the day after that and felt sluggish but can't say if it was the vaccine or not 🤔

I ran the day I had my injection as I wasn't sure how I'd feel on the Monday. Then I did my second run of the week on my usual day (Wednesday), so I had a couple of days of no running but I did still go out for my 4.5 mile brisk walk every day as usual. I didn't have any side effects from the vaccine x

I ran the day after my jab as I had had no side effects. I was expecting to fall asleep as my husband did 3 times when he had his!! but I was fine until a few days afterwards, when suddenly my arm started to ache and became sore at the point of entry, and that lasted for a few days. Other than that, no side effects for me.

Running stresses the body, as does a vaccine. If you feel any effects then you are better off resting until you feel fully fit again, otherwise you are exacerbating that stress and potentially drawing out the recovery, as with any illness.

I ran the morning of my injection, after my rest day I had an headache and felt ok before the run but very fatigued afterwards. Had a sore arm after a few days at the site and now in the afternoons I just feel like sleeping for a few hours..

I had mine on the Saturday and ran on the Monday morning no problem.

Update - I did it - and all was fine. I did listen very carefully to my body for any stress - took it really slow (as usual) - but actually once I started I felt great and my light headache went away. I suppose we are all different and Ianodeatruffle's advice is sound and best observed. If in doubt - don't. Thanks again all - it's great to have nice and helpful chats on a forum. I'm totally fed up with Facebook groups and people who are so opinionated that they ruin any constructive discussions. Have a great day all (despite the UK weather which has taken a turn for the windy worse again!) 🌂🌫️🌪️

I had mine a few hours after my run so the day after was a rest day. My next run was fine though. Like you I had a very mild headache for thwo of three days - I also had cold like symptoms for a hour or so a few days later.

But nothing to worry about.

I did and frankly regretted it. I did an intervals run the day after, it was fine until I tried to speed up then I found I had no energy. The next day I had a long fast run scheduled and found my energy just drained away at the turn round point, and I started to feel dizzy, not good when you are 5 KMs from home. I really did feel awful. I walked the next couple of days, and still felt bad...I'm going to try a short walk today and see how I feel, then if that goes ok I might venture out for a short easy run tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath...

Hmmm - sounds like your body is telling you to stop for a few days Curlygurly2!! Hope you get your energy back soon. I am resting today with just a short walk for fresh air (fresh "very blustery" air!) - and I also might start the strength exercises if I feel up to it. So far no nasty side effects - just feeling a bit weary which is obviously because my white blood cells are fully employed working out a defence strategy at the moment!! 😆

I struggle with post cancer-treatment fatigue, and Meniere's disease, the jab has triggered both of them. I've had a short walk every day, hopefully I'll feel up to a run soon, got some new shoes languishing in their box! A few days off never hurts performance, I might even have a bit of an improvement.

It has to be done though doesn't it? The jab I mean? Hope you feel better too xx

Forgot to mention my resting heartbeat went up between 10-15 BPM for a few days.
