Have I done it?

Here's the thing. I did week 9 run 1 and at the very end my knee started to hurt. I looked it up and it's It Band syndrome, there's great advice on Runners World which I'm following it. So I rested it, did a couple of shorter runs and then tried the 'running on empty' guided run on theNRC app. I tried a new route and didn't expect to do 30 minutes, but I did and quite comfortably! However the new route did involve a few stops for traffic and direction finding. So feeling chuffed I went back to c25k and ran week 9 run 2, but the knee hurt again on the last 100m. So frustrating! I rested it, planning to do run 3 as soon as it was better but the next time it hurt after just 2k. So my question is, does my NRC run count? If so can I claim the graduation badge?

I don't think that you can get your graduation badge yet, too many stops, but congratulations on almost completing C25K.You should take a few extra days off running, make sure you nothing hurts, run in a park or on a route that doesn't have so many stops like traffic lights, crossings etc, hopefully that way you will be able to run the 3/30 minute runs of week 9 without any further problems, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾

You did the right thing by resting up.

To graduate you need three thirty minute continuous runs under your belt. It doesn't matter if you were using the app or not.

So you can't stop for pedestrian crossings? I need to find a route with no cars? They've all been non stop up until that one run.

Only you know what you did or didn't do. We take your word for it.

I felt guilty about stopping at the lights but the alternative was getting run over so I figured it was okay 😆 That said I'd like to finish on a non stop run so I'll keep working on it.

Most people just run on the spot in such circumstances.
