Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.
The app tells you when to run and when to walk.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
You'll be fine - getting out for the first run is the most difficult bit!
Congratulations for choosing to do C25k. I did first run yesterday & yes, the app is great & talks you through everything! I selected Laura as my coach and she was great. I played the C25K playlist on Spotify & then went to the app. You start off with a brisk 5 min walk warm up & then you go into the walk/run sections. Main thing to remember is take your time, you do not need to run as fast as you think you do. Getting out the door is the hardest part, otherwise, enjoy! 😀
Hi there. Yes the app tells you what to do. I have Jo Whiley and I find her motivating. I just keep saying to myself "in 9 weeks I will feel so much better about myself". Good luck...you can do this!
I picked Sarah Millican......
And please watch this: (will help to get rid of any notions of 'running' I hope)
I use the nhs podcasts so there’s lovely Laura as the coach being ever so encouraging, and cheesy music to keep you going. You get talked through it all, so no need to worry - just follow the instructions.
