Week 5 Run 3 complete

Hi guys, this is my first post. I would like to first thank you for all the advice I’ve been reading and for letting me be apart of this forum. I’m not one to write much online but after completing run 3 of week 5 I thought I would.

I’ve not run since I finished playing rugby about 10 years ago, I started couch to 5k at the beginning of January and I’ve been looking forward to each run. Today though was the most enjoyable run so far, everything seemed to just click into place. I’m looking forward to next week now and hopefully completing week 9 by the end of the month.

Cheers everyone

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi there.. I’m quite close to where you are, I’ve just tonight completed run 2/week 5. I can’t believe I’m about to say this.., ‘I really enjoyed it’, I’ve been watching my food intake also and have lost a stone in that time!

Previously not run for around 20 years!

Do you know if there’s any plan after the completion of this program?

Well done, I’ve been watching my food intake too but have no idea if I’ve lost any weight, I know I feel fitter though. I don’t know if there is any plan after completing this program but there is the ‘bridge to 10k’ that my be worth a look. That’s my plan hopefully after completing this program.

So glad that you are enjoying your running, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
