Can anyone advise me where I can get my gait tested for best fitting running trainers? Thank you:0)

I finally did it! after months of looking at the C25K app, I put my trainers on and tonight have completed week 1 run number 3. I am unfit n never thought I could jog but I am enjoying it so much. I am struggling a bit with the breathing technique when jogging but it really clears your head and am looking forward to feeling fitter :0)

Any tips on what sports shop tests your gait for correctly fitted trainers?

Thank you :0)

Google search gait analysis near me. That should provide some answers.

Re the breathing... just breathe when you need to , eventually you will find a rhythm.

Search online. And then wait for advice on this forum.

And then wait til they are open again after lockdown. You'll probably be ok as you are, for the first few weeks. Others may disagree.

Enjoy it.

As for breathlessness, you are probably going too fast.

You will probably get a link to the "Japanese slow running" video.

If you have a local independent running shop that’s great. Normally I would say ask people at parkrun or local running club for recommendations, but not so easy at the moment.

Regarding your breathing, try running a bit slower, you should aim to run at easy conversation pace.
