So, ran tonight, no real major issues, was half expecting another phone call, but didnt come, only got to 3.65 km in 31 mins, much slower, than last 2 runs, maybe my 40 min, 5k, has taken it out of me π₯΅ have decided to stop worrying about, distance, and pace, just going to do 30 min runs, for a couple of weeks, then might have a look at the magic 60 min run thing. Blimey, it wasnt long ago, i was struggling with 3 min runs! π
C2 run , a bit of a struggle!: So, ran tonight... - Couch to 5K
C2 run , a bit of a struggle!
You still completed it though, well done ππ
30 min? Sounds like a marathon to me. π
Great job!
Running 30 minutes is a great achievement. Weβll get to 5k at some point. W9r3 for me tomorrow. Donβt know why Iβm nervous?!
Puts it all in perspective to think back to the early weeks, and how much progress is made and over such a short time period. Amazing really. Totally. I would never have imagined it remotely possible. π
Sounds like you have a wise plan. You grads are at a new beginning of sorts. Itβs fascinating to see you all establish structures for your next stage. This pre-grad is watching closely! π
Sounds like you have figured out the perfect plan. That's what consolidation is all about, bedding in what you have achieved so far.
Don't worry about pace for now. That can come later.
You could if you wish gradually extend one of your runs each week by a few minutes, but not by more than
10%. This would be a bit like the distance version of the Magic Plan
Well done Peter ππ I think a few 'meh' runs are to be expected, especially after graduation. You dug deep though and got it done - something you'd never have imagined only a few weeks ago πͺ
Hi Peter....I had a pretty crappy run W8R2 and and ran really slowly on the next one. But we got out there and did it. Everyone says we'll have "meh" runs and I guess that's what we've experienced. My pace is really slow; I've stopped thinking about time/distance etc because the bottom line is we're a hell of a lot fitter than when we started. And....you've continually been increasing your pace over those 10 weeks...time for some nice relaxed runs. Enjoy the rest of your journey. All the best. ππ
Well done Peter. You got out there and got it done. 30mins solid run, what's not to be happy about there πͺπ»Now we're consolidating, it's difficult not to get into the "must run further, must run faster" mindset (I am guilty of this too!) but we must go steady now consolidating all the work we've put in to get this far and then the pace will gradually go up, distance etc... I really ought to take my own advice lol
Sometimes you need those slower ones to enjoy what youβve achieved before setting another target- donβt think Iβll be joining you though on the 60 minute run for a very long time!!
Who knows, about the 60 mins, we got to 30, so never say never!!! π
True, but I think Iβd need to develop a bit more love for running before doubling the length-itβs a bit like going to the dentist at the moment, you know itβs doing you good in the long run and go because you like the results , but doesnβt feel so great at the time π
