Outdoor run on the pavements rather than over the park 😔

Well I didn’t enjoy that one bit.

Breathing ✅

Desire ✅

Weather ✅

How the run actually felt ❌

My legs felt heavy despite being adequately hydrated. The top of my left foot where it joins the shin felt uncomfortable even though I had stretched before going out.

I can only think that either running on a treadmill for my last two runs has ‘spoilt’ me OR I have overdone it and need an extra rest day,

Whatever the reason - that run felt like really hard graft again.

And..... some dipstick decided to try to stop me running by claiming that they knew me. No, Love, you don’t and you made a shabby run slower than it needed to be because you wouldn’t take no for an answer 😡

Sorry for being a misery. I guess some days are just like that.

No need to apologise.. variety of descriptions and emotions is what makes the posts on this forum so interesting and inspiring.. It makes me realise that all the fit runners I see have good and bad days too..

Hope you will enjoy your rest days, and the next run will be a better one..😊

This is absolutely true - for me, seeing the downs as well as ups makes it all so relatable... and that’s all the more inspirational.

GailXrunning that’s lovely. You’re right, it’s all about the ups and downs because it would be boring if it just got easier and easier.😊

It happens, hard to tell why. I had some labouring runs although on the surface I was meant to be rested. Sometimes 'life' plays part where interrupted sleep or stress can interfere and reflect on the run. Just ignore and carry on, good runs are around the bend again.

Aaw 🙁 we all have our bad days and bad runs and you know what we do with them....dump it into the bin and forget about it. Your next one will be better I’m sure 😊

Hi there, disappointing for you..can hear this for sure. Just to reiterate everyone else's sentiments...it's refreshing to hear the good and the bad runs because it helps all of us realise that we all have good and bad days. Makes us all "more human" and "real"..... whatever the run was like I guess it's about getting out there and trying. And...I love that people are willing to show just how vulnerable they are some days. Hope your next run goes well and your foot recovers. Thanks for sharing. 🙋🙋🙋

I’m going to wait until Friday, I think, before running again. I feel like pavement running is harder on the joints so I’m having an extra rest day. Thanks for the thoughtful response 😊
