how's about this? I DID IT!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!! but i am every bit as exhausted as i was when i did the first run... in fact more so cos i walked for 5000 paces this morning.... who said this was going to get easier? lol :-D that seriously nearly did me in but cos i am so super stubborn and my mindset is pretty good when it comes down to it, i wouldn't let it go, but i was virtually wilting at the end. i am totally unsure as to next week's possibilities... when she said 'you have two more runs to go' i screamed at her, so there must have been emotional energy still there haha x when does this start to get easier?

Well done 😁👍

It might take a few more runs to start feeling easier (but it will)

Personally I found week 3 easier ( but then it is the shortest week on the program) 😂

yes i guess i will. i hope i make it , i will put my all into it x

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate in reply to changing-woman

Haha, I'm sure you will !

You will be surprised how the weeks will pass , and remember, the program WILL prepare you for the next run , so whenever you complete a run , you WILL be physically capable of the next one !

Sometimes it's just the head that needs convincing 😁

Well done DTC, that’s another run in the bag👍 It’ll take a bit of time before runs get easier, but some runs will be harder and some easier. That’s just the way it works I’m afraid😊 Just keep going at a pace that’s comfortable for you and don’t push yourself to do too much, too quickly🙂

another run in the bag, yes, i guess it is. x

You don't have two more runs to go this week. The soundtrack is identical for each run within the week in weeks 1-4 and 7-9.

In my very first attempt at W1R3 (before Easter) I made the mistake of going through the local graveyard at the top of a hill, going slightly down the hill, and then back up. It felt as if it was going to nearly kill me. I got a stitch, palpitations, cold sweats, felt sick, etc.

changing-womanGraduate in reply to nowster

i am so sorry to hear that x

nowsterGraduate in reply to changing-woman

That was back in March. I ran 5km at the end of August.

At least you were in the graveyard just in case 😂

she (my coach, sara millican) meant this session, i was on run 6 and she said you have two more runs to go.meaning this time round. lol

I started with Sarah. I switched to Jo in June.

you've done brilliantly nowster!

nowsterGraduate in reply to changing-woman

I did... but I also did in my ankle when I did the 5km.

Don't be too concerned about hitting any magic figure. I was so close to the target already that I pushed that little more but my body said "no".

changing-woman profile image
changing-womanGraduate in reply to nowster

i understand it. i think mine is about to say no cos i push with my head so much. i dont think my body is up to it.

is jo better?

Jo seems more like she's done C25K, whereas Sarah is just reading a script.

Thank you dear jools

Well done dying-to-change, did someone mention it gets easier 😲 nooooooo..... You simply get used to running both further distances and longer times, and remember it may be colder out there, but you may still need to take a drink ( non alcoholic) check your running attire, don't overheat it'll feel harder if your getting too hot!!!!! And remember you've got this easy-peasy 💪

changing-woman profile image
changing-womanGraduate in reply to

so it doesn't get easier? cos i can't go on like this !!! x

in reply to changing-woman

Whoooooah I don't wanna hear that kinda talk dying-to-change 🤐 you'll make it easier as you develop those running skills, your legs 🦵🦵 will get Running memory, they'll strengthen as you get more runs under your belt👍 your breathing will become loose and easy listen to those little tips the C25k coach throws in you've got this💪

Well done.

When you can run for 30 minutes in a few weeks time, the early weeks will seem very easy.

I always have a joke with Laura when she says, "Ok. You can walk now," by responding,"I dont think so."

You did it though.

It isn't easy, but eminently do-able.

Hi DTC, all the above! It gets easier I think cos you realise slowly that you can do it. You did do it. Before every run I was so nervous thinking I couldn't, and after ever run I was amazed that I did! Just trust the programme, trust yourself, and more than anything enjoy it! Good luck!

thank you all for your helpful kind comments. i promise you i don't take this forum for granted and i am very happy here x

i just remembered, my walking was more brisk today. well less snail like. so that's a plus i had forgotten. ps. i also remembered a moment in run 4 when i really felt i couldn't go on and i cried out 'i just can't' then immediately shouted out 'yes i can' and laughed out loud cos i sounded barmy!

Yaaaaaas 👏👏👏👏👏you did it 🎉 so delighted for you, really well done 💪 Just think, only one more run and you’ll be onto W2 👌With your stubbornness, I call it determination 😂, you absolutely can do this, just take it one run at a time and follow the plan to the letter and good luck for R3 😊

Glad you made it!. The early runs were tough for most of us. Fact is you don't realise that you are improving as every run is testing us, and preparing us for the next one. I only realised I had improved when I repeated the programme following a return from injury. I could not believe the difference.

Do go slowly, do drink at least 2 litres of fluid the day before you run. Don't dress too warmly. I started in winter and when I think what I was wearing then compared to what I wear now it's ridiculous 😆. Also get yourself the right trainers, especially when you get to the longer running intervals. Gait analysis and the right trainers for you can help prevent injuries.

Apart from all that, welcome 😊
