So I took up C25K to improve/maintain my bone 𦴠health.
Due to the treatment I am currently on I need to have regular echocardiogram. Iβm so pleased to say my dr has advised me my results this week are really good and there is an improvement since my last one a few months ago. This must mean my cardio health has improved from the running πββοΈ and getting that heart β€οΈ pumping each time I get out there.
This is just the motivation I need and the reason I started running. Not all the benefits can be seen but am sure we are all much healthy for the miles/km we are putting in. ππββοΈπ
Have a lovely weekend βΊοΈ.
I will be putting on my running shoes π again on Sunday with this in mind.

Very pleased for you Angie, and others who have also found they have helped themselves with boosting their health. It really is quite impressive. I read that your bone health has improved too, could you let us know a bit more about that as I have issues with bones and arthritic lower back and there may well be others in a similar position wondering if we do the right thing.
Thank you for any info you may have and congratulations on helping yourself so far.
I had a dexa scan in the summer to get a baseline of my bone health as the meds I am on now can cause osteoporosis. The nurse advised me to run πββοΈ or do brisk walking to help my bone health. I will have annual dexa scans so will then be able to compare my bone density. So as yet I cannot say that the running is helping my bones π¦΄. Vitamin D & calcium are of course great for our bones. I will update though on my progress - as you say good for us all and to share. Best wishes to you xx
Thank you Angie - may you keep running and continue to keep your bones strong. I will do same and get a Dexa in about 18 months, as I hope to avoid medication if I can.
Great and positive news for you and cool for the rest of us too as hopefully we would get similar results if we had the test.
I was a very big couch potato up to a year ago when I started to go for walks. Things have progressed but I keep a mental list of all the small benefits that accrue over time from being fitter. (and lighter) Hence I love hearing about this stuff as I feel I can add that to my "probably" list, as in I have probably improved my heart health and it is great to have this sort of evidence to support those thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
