Just finished run 1 of week 5 and am pretty pleased with myself. Looking forward to the different runs in the next few weeks and probably need to invest in some better running shoes πŸ‘Ÿ - I hope everyone else’s run went well πŸ‘

I treated myself to β€˜proper β€˜ running shoes in wk 5 . Felt I was β€˜worth it β€˜ πŸ˜‚ . They were and are wonderful πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ

Well I don’t know about better mood after the day I’ve had but my mood certainly changed for the better on and after my run/walk!

No I didn’t and I’m sure I should’ve but I really didn’t want to spend that length of time in the shop . I did however do all the online testing on the brooks site and walked and ran up the garden path with wet feet . My imprint is perfectly standard / normal and I really felt confident my feet weren’t going outward or inward .

Also my first pair I ended up taking back because although I thought they felt amazing in the mid part of my foot when I got them home and ran around up and down the kitchen I really felt they were pushing the feet out to the side . I kept β€˜not wearing’ them to go out a run in so I knew I wasn’t happy

Turns out they were a stability shoe that the first sales assistant shouldn’t have let me try ( they felt so lovely in the mid sole though it was me that chose them over a Brooks pair ) .

Anyway I ended up with Brooks ghost 12 which my feet love πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

They were definitely a treat . The first pair were in the sale because I was still slightly worried I’d spend on shoes then not continue . It’s a catch 22 really , you feel you should protect your body with decent shoes but not spend too much .

Anyway in the end I got a decent discount and a new ghost 13 had come out so previous 12 less expensive .

Also the pair I was replacing were about 25 years old ! I even got them repaired but it didn’t work , so I did try πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that pair to replace were going to be dearer than the Running shoes !

It’s always worth shopping around once you’ve maybe found a pair that feels good for you . I think they bring out new models each year so you could pick up previous years at a better price too .

A well deserved new pair after 25 years - definitely will need to shop around
