I graduated last year but never really enjoyed my running. I gave up soon after having failed to find a compromise between pushing myself and enjoying myself

Maybe don’t compromise , only enjoy yourself 🤷🏼‍♀️

Welcome to the forum and well done

on your decision.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable and is the most efficient pace at which to build your stamina.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I was in the same boat 2 years ago, I just couldn’t enjoy it so I gave up.

I decided to give it another go a few weeks ago. After encouragement from folks on this forum I eventually got started.

I’m finishing week 3 today and really enjoying the runs. I’m going slower, doing proper warm up and cool down and using this forum.

I’m using jo as my coach, I like her style and all in all I’m much more relaxed about the whole thing. I think I pushed myself too much too soon last time.

I hope you enjoy it better second time round!
