W9R1 - Not much to report on this misty morning

Had some unsettling job news yesterday afternoon which meant my usual run prep (eating tea at a normal time and keeping hydrated) went for a Burton if I'm completely honest. Managed to still get some water in my system last night but I wouldn't say I felt settled going into the run this morning. Strangely though, I knew it was exactly what I needed, just a bit of time to take my mind off things and enjoy the sunrise through the mist. Finished the 30mins so that's all I can hope for. Here's looking for a slightly smoother run-up (see what I did there 🤭) to run 2. One down, two to go!

Sorry to hear about the job problems. 😟

Glad that your running provided a little oasis of calm in your day. 👍

Sorry to hear about the job situation and yes these are unsettling times .

I think the ‘ running thing’ may be one more coping strategy in life’s toolkit though.

Many of us will be glad we started on this wee journey.

I did R1 this morning , nothing remarkable but the sunrise sure was ☀️

Glad you’ve retained your sense of humour ( saw what you did there 😂🤦‍♀️)

I try to, even if they only just pass as dad jokes haha! Yes the sunrise was certainly worth it. It was very misty here which strangely made the sun look more like the moon as it was trying to break through the clouds. Just lovely

sorry to hear about the job news... its pretty crappy out there at the moment isn't it - BUT at least you ran for 30 mins!!! Huge achievement ;-)

Thanks Caroline. Yes, I definitely took comfort in that fact 🙂

Sorry about your unsettling news. Well done for getting the run done. You should be able to pull off the final two on convenient days. In my humble opinion you don’t need to set any records - it’s much more important to enjoy those runs. You can go for the other stuff afterwards 😊

Thanks BradC. Yes, I have set myself a mini target in my head as i do like to have something to aim for but at this stage, it's about completing the programme so I won't let myself get sidetracked 🙂

Sorry to hear you’re having some tribulations. Chin up. You’ll be fine 👍

Thanks Maxi80! Yep, I'll just keep plodding on both metaphorically and literally 🙂

Indeed. This tinnitus thing I have is driving me bonkers so I’ll plod on too.

A friend of mine has suffered from tinnitus for years and he says it can be extremely aggravating. I'm not sure if it's something that goes away or its own accord but if not, I hope you find a way of making it less noticeable/distracting

It seems different to the normal humming tinnitus. It’s like gushes of air 🙈 Hopefully I’ll habituate!

Are you still hanging around even when you complete the C25K?

I hope so. I've seen lots of people putting things on about consolidation runs so I was hoping to. Everyone is so lovely here (which I'm sure they are on other fora too) so I'll be hanging around a bit longer 🙂

Cool. If not I’m new on Twitter. I’ll be there if you use it.

I don't use Twitter sorry, never really got the hang of it, but like I said I'll be about on here 🙂

Hey Week 9-er 😎

Sorry to hear about your job worries. It’s such a dire time. Didn’t we pick the best time to start C25K? At least the running keeps us sane. We’ll never forget this time. Better things are coming 🙂

Well done for getting out there x
