Oh dear, my energy level today was waaaay down compared with Friday’s euphoric run. I really struggled to get through this one..
Jo said her hello intro at the beginning and off I walked at pace, then after about 8 minutes I realised she hadn’t uttered a word about starting to run so just went for it myself, set my watch to run and off I went.. with less gusto than before tbh. Shame Jo gave up on that one as with so little energy, I really needed a pep-talk!
I managed the 28 mins of running just about but I had nothing left in the engine at all after and walked the 5 mins back pretty knackered!
Is this normal or maybe an off day?!

It’s both - normal and maybe an off day! Chalk it up to experience and miles gained in the legs - you got out and completed it so it’s a win win from what I can see! Try a pre-run 🍌 next time! So so close to graduating! 👩🎓
Hehe 🙃 Don’t fret - we have all been there! 😴 Aw, it’s a pleasure - I love seeing people achieve their goals and empowering them a long the way with a little bit of positivity - Go Go Sussex13! 🏃♂️
‘Miles gained in your legs,’ I like that a lot. We’re still complete newbies Sussex, it’s easy to forget and be hard on ourselves ☺️
I can’t remember who mentioned it on here but a lady mentioned a ‘magic half-banana’ as her pre-run snack and I totally got it!! A whole one: too much. A half? Magic! 😆
Oh that blumin’ Jo, she’s very unreliable this week isn’t she?!
Don’t sweat it - Week 8 is old news, chuck it in the run bin and move onto the fabulous and shiny WEEK9✨ You’ve been doing so well, don’t let an off-day put you off the long-game 👊🏼
And hey, if Jo abandons you again and you need a pep-talk, just give me a phone and I’ll give you a kick up the bum! 😆
Totally normal, I ran 30 mins on Friday and felt dead and fatigued, but today was fresh and sharp...may depend on what you've eaten, what time of day you run etc persevere, you're getting there.👌
Definitely normal and off days are to be expected surely 😁 I know I've had those days, think we all do. My mood definitely dictates my run and also I guess what I've put in my body the day before maybe. Also hormones etc. Some days I'm just really tired and it takes all I have to get through a run. But then you have a good one and feel great again 😁
As everyone else has said - just an off day, we all have them. You will come back stronger for the experience on your next run, which you will totally smash!😁💪
Sussex 13: everybody else has said it all, you've got this...it hurts, you don't make it every time... What's new? Because one thing is certain: you will make it, when it's right, when you're ready...maybe when you least expect it - but make it you will, and more, over time. You've started the journey, you're on your way - with all of the rest of us, all the way! Go for it S13 - blow them away!
Omg, you and me both!!. I ran for 46 minutes on Sunday morning no problem. Today after work (maybe that's the problem) I gave up after 20 minutes. It was too hot, heavy legs, couldn't get breathing right. Knackered from the minute I started. Very deflated 😕
Sorry to hear that but it goes to show we al have off days sometimes. 46 minutes is awesome!!! 👏. I bet you’ll have a great run next time, especially if it’s not after work! I couldn’t run after work as I’m always too exhausted!
