VO2 max for the entire 30min?

Morning all,

So after graduating a couple of weeks ago I bought myself a Mi Fit 4 band. It shows BMP and I was wondering if anybody knew what this graph means?

I struggle with my breathing and grudgingly admit the Dr may be right in saying I'm asthmatic. I do take a puff before I go out but either it's not enough or I'm more unfit than I thought. I'm not sure why it shows the entire run as being at my max rate when I try so hard to keep it slow.

Any ideas, much appreciated.

How old are you and how fast are you running??

lol Sorry. I'm 38 and average pace is around 8'20. So not particularly fast. The most I've covered is 3.69km in 30min.

I'd suggest that the readings are wrong. Are you sure you are wearing the device correctly??

What makes you think that? The pace and km covered readings match my runkeeper app. I'm not sure how else I can be sure. It's certainly not loose on my wrist.

Well as you say according to the data you're pretty much at your maximum Heart Rate for the duration of the run?? I'd expect you to be really out of breath if it was correct.

I am really out of breath! No matter how hard I try to slow down further, I can't seem to get my breathing under control. I have to really focus on it throughout the run. My legs are fine, I don't get that heavy leg sensation except maybe the last few minutes but mostly its my breathing. I can't catch my breath. It starts getting difficult within the first minute or two of running despite my best efforts to keep it slow.

I think maybe I need to speak to the Doc about my inhaler or my heart. or both. lol.

I was hoping I could sort it out myself by now but its not getting any easier.

Also surely it's displaying 27 minutes in the anaerobic zone and 2 minutes in the aerobic zone...

I don't know. It wouldn't make sense to say all my exertion only equated to 2mins of anerobic workout.

I used to have a mi band and have just switched to a garmin - my heart rate seems about 20bpm lower now... But if you're struggling to breathe then it's not impossible that your heart is trying to get more oxygen to your muscles than they're getting, and that they are genuinely high readings. Agree it's probably a good idea to check with your doctor.

Have you tried checking your pulse manually, eg as soon as you stop running, for comparison?
