Just ran my first consolidation run and ended up walking half of it 😂😩 i managed 15 minutes of running and then kept stop starting, so it wasn’t a good run for me.My legs already felt quite tired from my final C25K run on Friday but I wanted to get out there and give it a go. It’s the hills too, THE HILLS, they’re killing me 😂 On a positive note, at least I tried eh! 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏻

Yes you tried! I'm sure you know all about hydration, speed, stretches etc. Maybe it's the humidity? But don't beat yourself up. You can give yourself a couple days off if you need it. Take care and happy running🏃🏃‍♀️💥

Yeh I think it was a combination of waking early with a toddler, having visitors the day before and having a little drinkie. But equally so, I’m glad I went out to give it a go. Hopefully run 2 will be much better 💪🏻🏃‍♀️😊

Oh, it’s so hard managing the running with a toddler isn’t it?! Mine gets me up early so I’m always tired, runs me ragged throughout the day with her energy and gives me backache from having to lug her about so much, as we are in the, “mummy up!” all day long stage! It’s so lovely having a 2 year old around but doesn’t make this running malarkey any easier :) Still, she’s my main motivator for doing this so I’ll just keep on keeping on as best as I can. I’m on consolidation run 3 and not finding it much easier yet but I’m not giving up! Well done for just getting out there still and running - it’s always better than having found reasons/excuses not to and sitting down instead, even if we don’t make it as far as we’d planned to. Good luck with your future consolidations and happy running to you!

Well done to you too for carrying on the running and reaching consolidation run 3. How are you doing with your running, do you have any sort of target? I bought a skipping rope to use on my days off the running to improve my stamina/endurance 😊🏃‍♀️

I was thinking about targets during my run yesterday actually! I haven’t really set any yet... the general advice seems to be to just keep doing the 30 min for 3x a week for a while, to build the habit and allow your body to adapt to running. I still don’t find that 30 mins as easy as I’d like so I think I’m just going to do this for another couple of weeks but then start looking to increase endurance as I have my sights set on a 5K - I see you’ve managed that already in the 30 mins, which is amazing! My best distance was 4.3k, so I’m not far off but I didn’t feel I could go another step further at the end of that one!

Have you got any targets? I’m wondering about trying Ju Ju’s bridge to 10k in September or whether it’s too soon. Skipping rope sounds like a fun idea by the way! 😁

My aim is to go with the 30 minute run 3 times a week, in the hope I find it slightly easier. I managed 5k in 30 mins on my last run of the programme but my consolidation runs gave involved a few minutes walking.. it’s quite hilly here and so I’m struggling quite a bit with that. Like you, I was going to try jujus 10k in September but I think it’s too soon. I feel I need to get better at running the 5k before I push onto do 10k. But that’s my next target,10k. 4.3k is amazing! You’re almost there, looking forward to seeing the improvements 😊💪🏻🏃‍♀️ skipping rope was cos I want to tone too, even though I’m not actually sure if it’ll have that effect.. 😂 equally it’s to build stamina

My route involves no hills, i get to run up a gentle incline on the way out and down it on the way back, and i do mean gentle, its ideal. Are you normally running in hills?

I’ve got no choice re the hills 🙈 it’s a hilly place to live, so I’ve got to combat them 😊
