W9R1 Done

Hi all. Ran W9R1 yesterday evening. Changed my usual route which took in a couple of hills. Toxic 10 kicked in at the beginning worse than ever - I could have given up after the first minute, but at half-way I found a good rhythm, and at 20 minutes started to enjoy myself. Can't believe there's only 2 to go (but a bit disappointed that I won't be able to squeeze them in to this month for graduation). Plan the last one for Sunday, and am both looking forward to it and feeling a bit weird about it being the end of the programme.

Well done for W9 R1! A no drama run for you, just perfect!

I felt the same about completing the programme. But you’ll still be able to continue posting about your consolidation runs. And it’s liberating exploring new routes, without your coach in your headphones! I’m loving it!

Thanks Jools2020. Yes, just read your latest post and am looking forward to changing things up and finding new routes. I think I'm nervous about the last run because I'm still so slow, but the goal of 30 minutes has been reached - it will just take me longer (much longer ) to get to the 5k in 30. But that's secondary really; apart from the start, I really love running and that's the ultimate goal.

it will take me longer, too! Did you see my pace? There’s no hurry! Get used to running for 30 minutes first. Carry on enjoying running - that’s the most important thing! Doesn’t matter if you’re slow.

Well done on getting to week 9! I bet you can almost taste the finish line! Enjoy these last couple of runs and the achievements you have made! I found it a bit strange not having the clear structure of the programme at first, but actually you can choose for yourself what to do next and that's really liberating! Loads of support to be found on here whatever you do! Good luck!

Well done on your progress...and imminent graduation...it can be a bit daunting thinking about it all coming to an end and wondering what will become of your running...but fear not...we are all here to keep you going and help you along...after graduation there’s is consolidation club where all new graduates can swap tips and talk about all things running...good luck with your final runs

Week 9 Run 1 for me this morning too. I had the same thought about not graduating in July :-( but that gives us August to finish the programme and do a 5K all in the same month! (mine won't be in 30 mins either :-))
