What do you use to track your runs?

I'm really intrigued to see what people use in all honesty. I've been tracking mine through my Apple Watch, but was wondering what other people have been using and what works for them. Do you have a watch and an app, or just an app, or just a watch? What works best for you? I downloaded Nike Run Club for post-C25K but not sure how good it is or if anyone can recommend me different? Desperate to try and find out some good tips for not only during this C25K journey, but most importantly AFTER!

Many people here on C25K and the other running forums use a Garmin Watch with a connection to Strava, they say that they don't have any problems with that, perhaps a few, but not much, I don't use a watch at all but I do use Mapmyrun for all my runs, it tells me all I need to know about the distance I run, my average speed, average pace per kilometer and how many calories I have burned, so it's up to you what you want to have to record your runs.

I was considering getting a Garmin watch but almost would struggle to because I really love my Apple Watch in my everyday life as well as fitness! Hmm ok interesting, thank you! :)

I have an Apple Watch and have been using that. I did download Strava and connected it to the watch. I ran both apps on one run and found both showed same distance, speed and splits but the calorie count was way out and I feel over exaggerated on Strava. If you are keen in hitting the monthly Apple Watch challenges and its a number of workouts done in a month, Strava doesn’t register for that. However I do think the info on Strava’s app to me is more viewer friendly.

I’ve got an Apple Watch and personally love it. I’m just about to start week 9 so just have it on the Open Goal function, but noticed you can set other goals within it. I was toying with getting a Garmin but I think the Apple does everything I need ☺️. I might also use Nike Run Club after I graduate.

I just use the free app Map My Whatever and log my food on My Fitness Pal. I don't take any notice of calories burned as they are always weigh over the top (get it!).

I just use them to see where I have been and keep an eye on how much I eat.

I will start to track mine from tomorrow.

I haven't bothered yet but now I'm doing week 7 it's probably worth it.

I have a new Garmin forerunner 45.

It will be it's first time out tomorrow 😁

And will upload to strava afterwards

I use an Apple Watch linked to Strava and have imported all my previous runs as well. Just started using NRC and find some of the 30min guided runs really good to make the time fly by. There are different coaches for different types of motivation also a number of runs slightly longer than 30mins which will hopefully be a good way of slowly increasing your running once you have completed some consolidation runs

My watch is of the wind-up type- good for telling me how much longer I need to run, but not much else. I use Endomondo free app. It’s fine, much like mapmyrun or strava. I think.

I just check avg pace and speed and aim to improve steadily on those thoughout my consolidation weeks

So glad you asked this as I was thinking the same. I just got an Apple Watch so still learning how to use that. I downloaded the Nike app too (like you I’m thinking ahead to after graduation) at the moment I use the Adidas app to track which I find useful for looking at pace and distance etc which I’m not obsessive about but it is nice to see the progress 😊

Hey Packers, I also have an Apple Watch and for ages I was using the workout app that comes with the watch. I’ve since changed to Strava for the community aspect, which we have our own C25K group on 😊
