Well that’s it, I’ve just been out & completed week 9 run 3 & no one is more surprised than me!

As I was running I was doing a bit of reflection which I thought I would share with you (sorry, long post!):

Reason for starting: I’d always loved sport however had got increasingly lazy over the last 10 years & never been as unfit as I had got. I hated myself for it so decided to do something about it.

Least favourite run: week 4 run 1, I managed the first 2 interval runs fine but then couldn’t get going again after the walk to complete it & just walked home. This was the only practice run I had during the course but it helped me to fight mentally.

Favourite run: week 5 run 3, 20mins.... I just ran for 20mins!! This was the moment I truly started to believe I could do this.

What’s next: at least 2 weeks of consolidating 30min runs, my best distance was run 2 of week 9 4.5k so I’m not far off. Then I think I’ll tackle the magic plan & with that start to sort out my eating habits.

If you are still reading- keep going & believe in yourself, you will have more ups than downs as you work towards week 9 & most importantly take time to realise what you are achieving... you’ve got this!

Congratulations and very well done on your C25K graduation. I graduated 3 years ago. Before moving onto longer runs I would recommend that you run 5K x 3 times per week for at least 5 to 6 weeks. Your New running legs need to be built up a little first. It just prevents injury. Don’t be in any hurry to get to 10K. You have loads of time. By favourite distance is 5K.

Thanks Damien, good to know about building the running legs- my injury history isn’t great so I’ll be careful not to do too much too soon.
