Well fellow C25K’ers this old 64 year old gal has made it after 12 weeks. I am so happy with my achievement which is the biggest physical challenge I have ever set myself and even completed. The forum chat, advice and motivation were completely inspirational. My running buddies being Jo on the C25K podcast and Tony Blackburn with his Sounds of the 60’s were a great help along the way. Just now trying to work out how to go it ‘alone’. Good luck to everyone on the programme, keep going we’re all amazing. BTW nearly forgot, ran for 4.31K in my last week 9 run @ 6.57mins/km.😁😁🏃‍♀️.

That’s just amazing, well done, we are same age and been running a year and way slower than you, makes me want to speed up but it’s near 30 degrees here and way too hot to do more than just joggle along

I certainly don’t have that problem, typical west of Scotland weather, now stopped raining and very cloudy.👎

Maybe we’d run a bit faster if it was cooler, you are awesome though

Thank you kindly, that was my best time yet, still don’t think I’ll ever do a sub 30 min. If I’d can do sub 40 I’ll be delighted.

Hello Amazing Lady, Congratulations! Very well done. Your story is very inspiring, I’m only on week 3 run 2 so still a long way to go! When I feel I can’t do it I’ll think of you !!!

Thank you, what lovely sentiments, v much appreciated. As they all say if I can do it anyone can. Off for my 1st consolidation run Saturday morning, it will be very strange. Good luck for your journey.

Good for you!👏👏👏

Last September I decided I wanted to be able to run 5k by my 60th birthday. It was my birthday on Monday and I ran a 17k last week. First time in my life I've over achieved at anything! 😄

Spend a couple of weeks consolidating your 5k; you can always use the last run as a guide. Beware, apparently the first few weeks after graduation is the most common time to pick up injuries, so don't go mad.

After that, the world's your running track! You can mix it up with routes and hills. Do some shorter faster runs, or longer slower ones (no more than 10% increase each week is the general rule). You could run with a friend. Maybe parkrun will be back in the autumn. 🤞You could start investigating running clubs. There are some running app to help you. I use the Nike running club app, there are others out there too.

Just enjoy the achievement and keep going!🥳
