Glad that one’s done. Yuk... not really looking forward to running for 25 mins though - not sure I have ever managed that in my lifetime even as a kid.

Well done !!!! I felt the same, I had a bit of a mental block on it however I completed run three today and tbh although it was hard I preferred it to run 2.... no idea why.

Just keep going ! It’s what I keep telling myself

It was bloomin' hot today... humid. Hard going. Well done for doing it. Good luck for the next one. You can do it! Trust the programme... x

I did 6/3 yesterday and found it easier than 6/2 even though it was humid and sticky and wet.

To be honest I wasn’t really looking forward to the 25 minute solid run, but settled into a nice pace, significantly slower than the previous run and now feel, after 6 weeks, that pace is right for me to complete the program.

You’ll breeze 6/3 and then look forward to week 7.

I did 6 run 1 yesterday looking forward to doing run 2 but I’m not sure about the 25mins in run 3. I aced the 20 in week 5 run 3 but an extra 5 mins whew! 🥴

I'm at the same stage as you and have run 3 to complete later today. Run 2 was a struggle by the end as the heat caught me out and I think I pushed too hard at the start. I am apprehensive as well as the thought of running 25 mins after the last run seems daunting but I will give it a go and hope for the best.

Well done! You can do it! Don't worry about the sweating, it actually means your body is working well. I used to think if I got fitter I'd sweat less, but the truth is your body just sweats more "efficiently" 🤣 sweat bands do help as does anti-chafe creams if that's an issue. 👍🏻

I’m about to do W6R3 today. I’m going to slow it down and go for it. I’m also changing my route slightly- no hills! I know I can do it, but it’s daunting all the same. It’s a state of mind. I find looking ahead at the road helps, and breathing correctly. It’s a challenge, but so is everything right now. Good luck with W7!

I have to say, having graduated yesterday, that I think the runs without a walking break are easier than the runs with. I had to rerun a couple of the week 7 and 8 runs...in each case I was overheated and thought that I would walk for 1-2 minutes and then run again. Yup. Nope. Could not pick the pace back up. That realization has made it a little easier for me to just keep going, even if I have to slow down to walking speed. I am slow as a snail but for the last two weeks of the program the knowledge that running continuous is easier for me than taking a break kept the PE teacher demons off my shoulder. I can still hear Miss Howarth barking at me when I came in from a "run" that I had mostly walked...making me go again as punishment for being too slow.

I've done wk6 run2 this morning & I found it hard too. Can't blame the heat as it was nice & cool. Maybe not enough water taken on board yesterday.

I'm anxious about run 3 too 🤔 managed wk5 run3 ok but another 5 minutes extra now that seems a lot more.

I’ve read your post with interest as tomorrow morning I am due to do Wk6 Run 1 😣. I struggled with wk5 run 3, can’t seem to get over the mental block. You are my inspiration!

All I can say is don’t worry about distance. I turned Mapmyrun off. Just focus on getting into your groove, get your breathing right even in the warm up walk, drink plenty in the day so you’re hydrated and you’ll be fine. Start slow - don’t go off too fast. Good luck! You can do it. It’s all in the head!

I have to be honest, I did this today and found it a real struggle but don’t let that put you off. I feel like it was a combination of being too hot, fatigue and not drinking enough water. I got up to 24 minutes before I had to stop and have a breather. Once I stopped for a few minutes, I went again and did the final 60 seconds, however I think I’ll repeat it again to build up my confidence.

You can do it! I always tell myself when I struggle mentally, “just keep going, you can do this” and it usually works. Good luck! x

I’ve held off today. Rain awful and just didn’t feel it. Weather improving tomorrow so will give it a go tomorrow evening. But if I can’t do it, I’ll just hold off a couple of days and try it again. No point stressing. 👍
