So strange I'm on wk6 R3 and Its the second time I have done this run..I just cant seem to complete it!!

Its not that I'm too out of breath I feel good.. I'm slowing my pace down.

Today I asked my son to come with me...he was on his bike...he was talking to me and bless him, telling me I was doing great ect.... but the pain inside my calves is sooo painful! That it make me stop and walk but only for like 30 seconds then I'm ok again. For maybe another 4 minutes then the pain is back...really hoping to get some advice on this ....so frustrated with my self!!

I will keep trying till I nail this run!!

Check hydration, as pain subsides do calves remain tight, are you stretching the calves after your runs and doing any dynamic excercises beforehand? Can also try foam roller on calves.. gently massage them..

Not really been doing anything before a run to be honest. What are 'dynamic excerises' please...

Have you tried foam rolling? If you don’t have a roller, you can use a can of beans etc. Start at the bottom near your ankle and roll forward lifting yourself up on hands. Repeat. Than roll the sides, you will find a tender spot roll that until the pain eases. You will need to take a few days off until you feel no pain. Don’t forget to stretch before and after your runs. Pro athletes swear by foam rolling and the use of lacrosse balls for muscle soreness.

We do actually have a roller in the house. My partner plays hockey and I have seen them use it ... never thought about using it my self though. I will be doing now.

Super tip... thank you

Get your partner to show up how to roll.

Do you stretch after every run, as recommended in the guide to the plan?

Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Are you drinking a minimum of 2.5-3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as recommended in the guide to the plan?

Water yes... I have always drank loads of water daily for years...I dont drink anything else but water... love the stuff.

Stretching... ahh I do sometimes and sometimes I dont if I'm honest. I will have a look now and make sure I do them religiously from now on. I hope that works.

Thanks
