Week 7 Run 1 - I think I can do this!

Hello Folks, some of you will have received replies from me, but this is my first official post. I started C25K on 10th April but only found this forum in Week 4. I've had great encouragement to get this far from reading other people's posts and reading lots of advice, which frankly I needed by the end of week 4. I started to do the recommended stretches before and after, and most importantly I realised I wasn't drinking enough water. Now I keep 2 x 500 ml water bottles in the fridge so that I can measure how much I have drunk.

I've had a couple of bad days but I believe this programme works if you follow it as given and do not skip the rest days as your body needs to recover. After week 5 I started to take 2 or 3 days rest in between runs.

So now I have done two 25-minute runs and I know my body can do it! I do find the middle of the run heavy going but after the half way I seem to pick up and the last 10 minutes is the easiest.

I've never worried about distance but I measured it today. In 25 minutes I ran 3.6 km so now I have a benchmark to measure my progress.

Feeling good :)

That’s great Newbie - I’m so glad to hear you’ve stayed with it. Now you can do 25 mins you know you can easily go for another 3 then 5 mins. You’re on the home straight now!
