Week 5 run 3 in the bag at last! 😁

After overdoing stuff on my rest days and then being sidetracked by life in general, I was feeling a bit lost. Pulled my socks up after a week off and got back on track for week 5. First two runs all good. In a bit of a tizz about run 3 but read the pinned post and it made so much more sense! Thank you IannodeTruffe! Out today and was cheered on by the pep talk at the start of the run. I β€œran” even slower than usual (!) and kept thinking, β€œI can do this” repeatedly all the way round. As it got closer to the end I thought, β€œwell there’s no way I’m giving up now!” and the next thing I knew I’d done it!! 😊 So chuffed! Such a great feeling. 😊 The bottom line really is, if you stick to the programme and take on board all the amazing advice on here, you really can’t fail! To anyone else coming through, yes you can, prepare to amaze yourself!

You can do it and you did do it, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran πŸƒπŸΎ 😊

IannodeTruffe is the expert here on C25K, excellent information and advice from him.

Sometimes it's not a good idea to look ahead at future weeks and runs and wait for the instructions from your coach but if you have already looked ahead, that is OK.

Take runs 1 and 2 of week 6 especially slowly, then you will be πŸ†— πŸƒπŸΎ πŸ‘.

I started week 6 this week and has been a disaster.... so disappointed after the 20 minute run. Why is it so hard?!

Because after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 the muscles in your legs got used to the that non stop 20 minutes run, so with going back to the interval walks and runs it makes that run hard.

I ran a non stop 10K on Monday, if I had had a walking break to continue to say 12K I doubt if I could have started running again but if I had not stopped running I could have ran a further two km, that is why runners don't want to stop during a long run.

😊 Go for it albeit really slowly! πŸ˜€ Also, having a great soundtrack helped and really looking at my environment was a good distraction. I run in a park, so looking at the different trees and colours and the people; anything that stops you focusing on the time. Enjoy Dreambird! Will look forward to your next post! πŸ‘πŸ¦‹πŸπŸ˜€

Well done! Week 5 Run 3 was my β€˜How on earth can I do this??’ Moment...and I’m hopefully completing week 9 on Saturday 🀞.

Honestly, I think once I got over that hurdle, the rest felt within reach - take your time, breathe, and you’ll surprise yourself! You should feel super proud after that run - and start to find a bit of confidence too!
