Earbud advice please

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced earbuds? I've been through about 10 pairs since I started running....They never seem to last longer than a year, and some far less than that...is this normal even? I suspect I'm not a light footed runner...

I've tried Poundland and Primark, I've tried a £28 pair from Maplins (in the sale of course) none seem better than the other....

Any suggestions?

Personally I don't get on with earbuds so use over the ear headphones.

If that isn't doing it for you, have you tried behind the head types? Aftershokz seem popular.

Do they last? I fear I would jolt the wires on those just the same...

They're cordless so you charge them with a USB cable and the charge lasts for 12hours

They must have some wires inside though? Or solder or whatever to shake loose?

Flick and Tailchaser love them.

They're bone conductors so your ears aren't covered or have anything sticking into them so you have better awareness (of traffic for example).

Invest in aftershokz

They don’t have wires. They are bluetooth. They are also the only ones allowed on some races as they are the only ones that are approved by UK athletics as you can hear everything when you’ve got them on: they don’t go in the ears so tough can hear people and traffic. I’ve got titanium trekz. The mini version fit me better than the standard version and I’m definitely not mini 🤣

Aftershokz are great because you can still hear your surroundings.

I can’t remember, do you run with your phone? I’ve got aftershokz wired ones as I still use iPods, they’ve got a clip at about t-shirt neck level that you can fasten to your top to stop the wire slipping about. I love ‘em, when the iPods fall over i’ll go for Bluetooth ones.

I’ve had them a couple of years now and they’re as good as new, would definitely recommend them, but they’re not cheap, the wired ones are a bit less expensive than the Bluetooth ones.....

Yes, I always run with my phone, in case I have an accident or whatever. I've got all my music on it too, and I can listen to Spotify too.

I assume I'm shaking some kind of wire loose, maybe the speakers have gone for whatever reason.

I’d let you try mine out......but that might be a bit difficult to do at the moment......

Ha ha!!

I'm really concerned about how long they last, My last pair were 3 quid, they've lasted a year...maybe that's just par for the course.

The ones I’ve got are for use with a phone as they’ve got an in line microphone........and I’d say the wire is good quality......they have a 2 year warranty.....

I’ve been using these and had no problems so far.

I have aftershokz bone conducting ear buds too. I cannot recommend enough. Yes, expensive but sturdy, great quality and really comfortable. You can run/bike etc and still hear the traffic , I often find them still attached to my head hours later, because I have forgotten I am wearing them. There is a difference between cheap and value :)
