If you'd told me 5 weeks ago that I'd be writing this post, I would have laughed my head off! I couldn't even run for a whole minute, this morning I ran for 20 minutes non stop. I'm so proud of myself 🀩 and so very grateful for this amazing programme that absolutely works! Thanks to everyone who has supported me on here so far, I'm going to do this, I may not make it to 5k by W9, but I will be able to run for 30 minutes and that will be a huge achievement from where I started!

Well done! It's a fantastic achievement. I did my wk 5 run 3 on Monday and honestly thought I would do a bit of a walk in the middle, but I listened to Laura and I did the full 20 minutes, although I paced myself very very slowly. Onwards to week 6 . . .

But watch out for W6 as intervals are back and have a knack of catching a lot of runners out.

Thank you! I keep seeing that re Week 6 so it's on my mind- do you know why specifically? I've seen others saying it was ok too so 🀞

I had no problems. It's just after running for 20 minutes nonstop in W5 R3 you would think that your next run would be maybe 23 minutes or so. But no you go back to shorter runs etc, then in W7, you are on the continuous longer runs.

I was weirdly nervous beforehand....amazingly though it was fine! I'm a slow runner anyway, so I made sure that I went off at a slow, steady pace. I kept reminding myself that I could definitely run for 8 minutes and that I would just keep running to see if I could do it, which I thought I could because the programme hasn't let me down yet. When I got to the 10 minute mark, I told myself that I only had to run the same distance back that I'd just run and I was sure I could do it. With 5 mins left, I told myself I could easily do that because I've done lots of 5 min runs already. So for me, it was a big mind game, telling myself that I did have it in me, that I could and would do it. I realised a few runs ago that mentally if I knew I had to run for 5 mins, I'd do that and my body would stop there, the same with 8 mins, so I figured that if I told myself I needed to run for 20 mins I'd be able to. I know that soon I will be able to run for 30 mins too!

My legs were ok, still ok tonight too! I could breathe fine too. I loved listening to my music, that helped a lot. I enjoyed running! I actually liked not having to stop to walk so I could see just how far I could go. It was a great run because I proved to myself that I could do it and it's a brilliant feeling.

Be confident in the programme and your body's ability to run. It's got you this far, you absolutely CAN do this! I'm rooting for you- please come back and share your excitement with me once you've nailed it too πŸ˜ƒ

Very encouraging. I’ll keep what you’ve said in mind as I set out this morning to start week 5. It’s very windy so not sure how this will go !!
