A week today, I am going for a run πŸ˜€.

I am silly excited and can not wait. Next Monday my treadmill arrives from Decathlon. It seems to of been a long time waiting for them to come back into stock and within an hour of them being released they had sold out again.

I thought I would be fine with the cross trainer. In a way I have been but it is actually a lot harder work than running for me and I don’t get the same relaxation and mental sorting that a run gives me alongside the physical exercise.

I am also missing my long walks so much. There is talk of extending the shielders time at home to at least August so we thought the treadmill was worth the expense. I am going to set it up so I can see my computer screen. I have found a lot of virtual treadmill runs and walks on you tube so you get something visual to watch at the same time.

I am so looking forward to running again.

Happy running and stay safe

Well that sounds a great compromise given curent restrictions. Look forward to hearing where you’ve been virtually running! Keep safe

In your circumstances this sounds like essential kit. I tried running round the house which was surprisingly good mentally but my knees really didn't thank me for it, nor for the trampoline and my butt didn't thank me for my son's bike on a turbo. With a visual track the treadmill sounds brilliant.

Fortunately I don't have to stay in completely, just out of shops and busy places (such as the roads round me) and now that NACPO have clarified advice on driving for exercise I can get to a couple of woods which I largely have to myself and look after my knees.

Enjoy your new toy when it comes!

I tried a few alternatives and I realise for me exercise is more about the mental benefits than the physical ones. The cross trainer keeps me fit but doesn’t keep me relaxed and calm, I need either walking or running but preferably both for that. I’m glad you can get out to your lovely places and do your thing that is great news. Take care. Rfc x

That is exciting Rfc.... I imagine you will be on there a lot between you, walking and running and run/walking!

Staying shielded must be very hard, I'm not able to run just yet, but going out for walks and using the legs while relaxing the mind is so restorative...

Enjoy! Best wishes to you and Mr Rfc, stay safe and well. 🌷xxx

Thank you, it is amazing the little jobs you find to do round the house and the ones you completely want to ignore πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, we are keeping busy though. Glad you are getting out for your walks, I know how much you enjoy them, there is something about the rhythm of a walk that is so good and if anything I missed that a bit more than running if I am honest, it calms me so much. Happy walking. Take care. Rfc xxx

Thank you, I am hoping setting up is smooth. It states two people and 45 mins so sounds a bit complicated. Take care. Rfc x
