Hi everyone. I have downloaded the app this morning as I've always wanted to be able to run. I have always struggled with my weight but even more since having my life boy but I really want to make a difference and I have heard the app is fantastic. How are you all finding it? I'm not sure I'll even be able to do the first run of 60 seconds but I'm going to give it my best shot! Wish me luck!

Well you have done the first thing. Now take a deep breath. Think why you want to do it and remember this is all about you. Honestly it won’t be as bad as you think. I am 53 and over weight. I do have the encouragement of my 15 year old. But not sure that helps as she shoots off in front of me. But I don’t care what others think. And believe me what they are thinking is far more positive than you imagine. Had some people telling me how inspired they have been seeing me go past. Quite a shocker really. We are all stronger than we know. Go on give it a go. What have you got to lose. Once you see what you can do you will be flying

There is a pinned post for folks new to C25k. Well worth a read as it answers all your questions

The fab thing is that you only need to go very slowly. Slow is great. No hurry, no need to push

Good luck ! Have fun 🙂👍

First run is hard because it’s all strange, being outside, listening to the ap, the route, ....run 2 is easier.Im only in week 2 and hadn’t run ever, am 55 and unfit! You can do it! Enjoy the sunshine and wind in your hair!

Yeah I can imagine! I'm nervous but would love nothing more than being able to run 5k a couple of times a week. Such good exercise and good for the mind too I think! Thank you :)

Good luck. I often come on here to read the supportive comments which help keep me mentally positive (I am only up to W3R3 and had Corona virus between W1 and W2 so two and a half weeks off) but from other people's comment I have learned "TRUST THE PROGRAMME" and that there is no such thing as a failed run, it was just preparation for doing it next time you try. I am 62 and thought I would die on W1R1, went home and took my blood pressure as my head was pounding so much I thought I might be about to have a stroke...all fine....but today I thoroughly enjoyed completing W3R2 although the final 3 minute run was a struggle. Get underway but "TAKE IT SLOWLY".

Great words of advice thank you so so much!

Hi. I downloaded the app last week and this morning I completed my third run, so week one is done! I haven’t run since school - I’m now 50 years old. You have taken the first step - now get out there and just do it!!!! You will surprise yourself - I did. The thought of it is so much daunting than the reality - trust me. No one will think anything when they see you doing it, if anything they will probably think ‘wow I wish I had the motivation to do that’. Do this for YOU - NO ONE ELSE!!!! You will feel so elated when you’ve done your first run - if you don’t believe me get out there and do it to prove me wrong!!!! Good luck, you CAN do it. You’re not alone 😁😁

I’m onto W6 and finding it manageable and my son (17) has started today inspired by me. Both of us have never enjoyed exercise and need to lose a bit of weight and decided lockdown is the perfect time to start. I’m loving the program. Good luck and stay positive 😊

Hi Belle7. Well done on making the decision to start this. I’ve just completed week 2 this morning and am petrified for week3!!! I am mid 40s and a few stone overweight so it is tough going but I’m determined to do this! I finally quit smoking nearly 6 months ago and for me that is a huge huge huge achievement so I figured if I can do that I can work up to running 5k! One thing though that I’ve read over and over again - please don’t think you will lose a load of weight purely on this 9 weeks. It does what it says - gets you to the point where you can run 5k. I am hoping I will tone up a bit along the way but I’m not expecting any weight loss. Good Luck with your programme I’m sure you will do it and you will do yourself proud! Go for it 🙌🏻👍🏻💖
