There are no words to describe how awesome running is

I thought i had deleted the photo seems i deleted the post,

My feet were healed, been very itchy though and as i put socks on this morning i saw a little weeping patch, lots of rude words muttered and quickly puta dressing under my sock with a smile and my feet are fine away e went.

The warm up walk and set off the garmin, nice gentle run, breathing comfortable, legs comfortable, smile on my face.

After 15 minutes Willow slowed to a walk and wandered off to sit in the car and smoke

I jogged on, slowed almost to a stop to explain to a couple with a dog where the revolting smell was coming from and that once round the lake it smelled fine, the science is the direction of the wind, as i ran on I realised i wouldn’t run 3k in 30 minutes if i didn’t get a move on so across the grass as fast as i could and just made 3k in my half hour, i could have run home made it more but after a break due to sore feet 30 minutes was today’s limit

We are hoping to get back to more regular running now winter is over

9weeks1day smoke free (sorry wrong forum but i’m proud and couldn’t resist) and deep breathing while running really lovely and silent

Stay safe and well all you lovely runners

Brilliant running, have you not convinced willow to give up yet?

Hope your feet continue to heal and congratulations on being smoke free😊💪

He’s cut down at least that’s what he tells me, he no longer smokes inside which means every so often he disappears, i have plenty of patches for if the shops run out of tobacco but no i haven’t convinced him

When he had flu and lay curled up in bed for a day my daughter said “quick, sneak in and put a patch on him” but well he will or he won’t

You can't force people to stop I know that you've got to want to.

You're going great 😊

Thank you and i know, it was sudden decision for me and up to that point i didn’t want to I was of the “ i will smoke if i want it’s my right” brigade but one chest infection and wondering if i will ever run again changed my mind pretty quick

Anyone who gave up years months or weeks needs to be so proud, and i’d have never believed how wonderful chocolate tastes

It would be really good if Willow stopped smoking, I read a rather sombre post today in a news item that I got from the Dutch Newsite, Dutch News NL, it stated that in China passive smoking killed around 8 times as many people than coronavirus in the first 3 months of 2020, 25,000 compared to the virus killing 3, 000

All is clear now, I thought willow was the dog! ( guessed he wouldnt be smoking in the car)! Well done you, I have a week off with painful calf muscles, cant wait to get back on track

Aww no he’s not the dog, ouch that’s rotten the calf muscles

He's a beagle

Well done for 9weeks smoke -free Sola. You haven’t convinced willow yet? That’s even more of an achievement for you with temptation around.

He no longer smokes in the house which is strange because i look up and think i wonder where he’s gone then oh yes he’s gone outside

Mind you i think he might just run out of tobacco one day and then i will stick a patch on him

Great post!

You should be proud and we are happy to have you share it here. Well done...and for the running too. I think your motivation monitor must be right to the top. Running with sore feet...wow. 👍🤝

They are more itchy than sore but they really are horrid at times and when they start to swell i’m so cross because it means antibiotics and no running

Ooh I do sympathise...do take care.

Yes running is awesome indeed. Well done on the 9 weeks quit. The cravings will be reducing nicely by now I bet. Just think how much better your lungs will be to face the challenges ahead.

Great post and absolutely brilliant on the smoking. It's hard to believe now that we used to do such a damaging and stupid thing!

Well i’m pleased that i no longer smoke but won’t judge anyone for their choices 😀

You have amazing willpower, Sola. When I gave up I was fortunate that OH wasn’t a smoker, so I wasn’t tempted. You are going great. 👍 lovely run and photo too. 😎

Thanks lexi6 The patches help but the price has now doubled so in protest i am only changing on alternate days and it’s ok, i could afford but don’t see why they can just double the price everywhere

Feet were doing well thanks, and the itching was pretty much stopped so i stopped bothering with the antihistamines like a right muppet, 3 days later it’s like having ants in my shoes but i will flipping not let this stop me running

Let’s hope all is runners stay healthy
