W7R3 - waterproof jacket recommendations?

Was out this morning and despite the torrential rain, very high winds and standing water along almost my whole route I managed to get my 25 minutes done and am delighted that the session just squeaked over the 5k mark (though I know it's time, not distance I should be worrying about just now!)...

Can anyone recommend a waterproof suitable for running in? I was soaked through a microfleece, tshirt, running top and had to wring out my sports bra when I finished! (I also had to pour water from my trainers so it was ridiculous today!)

Got to love living in the West of Scotland! 😂

Personally, I just wear as little as possible when it’s raining as I get too hot in a jacket and I’d rather be wet by cooling rain than sweat that becomes uncomfortable. Technical fabrics dry out fast... which is good in the warmer weather... this time of year I just plan my runs to end at my car where I have a towel and lovely warm A/C and heated seats.

If it was warm and wet I'd wear less, unfortunately it was 3oC when I set off... Still had my gloves and wooly hat on at the end of the run today as the wind chill was horrendous! I've not been bothered by getting a bit wet on previous runs but today was biblical style rain which got me thinking about whether a waterproof would be a good idea!

I’m a little warm blooded... 36F the other day at the start of my run and some interesting windchill, but once I got going I was fine in shorts and a T-shirt, gloves are a necessity for me, even in summer. I hear great things about Decathlon RunDry and RunWarm, and they’re cheap, but neither is waterproof.

No wonder you were wet wearing that much! Did you not overheat? 🤣

I have an OMM Halo. I tried various jackets and found them all too heavy so e see up paying out. In my opinion, OMM jackets are the best. Though I rarely wear it. I only wear a tshirt unless it's below 3 degrees. In summer for sure I'd just get soaked. But I love rainy runs.

It was 3oC when I set off with really bad wind chill! Still had my gloves and hat on at the end today, usually I start getting warm half way through and remove gloves/roll up sleeves of fleece etc

I also live in the west of Scotland so I know exactly what the weather was like this morning. I didn't want a jacket so I bought a few of these the rain doesn't seem to seep in.

Great you've now completed wk7🤗

Hi, I'm in the west Ireland and when the rain coming at me horizontally I wear the male version of this. Close fitting so no flapping about in the wind, breathable and a reasonable price, plus reflective panels.

I was wearing a Berghaus jacket while out running a couple of days ago. I was lovely and toasty - mind you, it felt like -7.

Not cheap I'm afraid - I usually use it for fell walking: m.scottsmenswear.com/produc...
