Well this is where the serious stuff starts now!! I’ve done it before so I know I can do it again. Today felt really good and I was tempted to push on at the end but I didn’t. My hip is soooo close to being completely better that I am still going to build up slowly again. I’ve done loads more stretches this time round too. And I know more specific ones now for my problem areas so that helps.

My son’s new girlfriend is a qualified masseuse and Franklin Method Pilates teacher so that helps. She trained with my Pilates teacher and they teach together at Rachael’s (my teacher’s) academy. So we get lots of handy tips and my son gets lots of massages for his poorly back ( he’s a carpet fitter so suffers with his back).

It was lovely running today - sunglasses on, no rain, hardly any breeze, and I did actually have to tie my jacket round my waist for the last 5 minute run. Probably won’t last but it really felt Spring- like today. Shower now and then out to finish my garden border off while I can.

Stretches all done for the day and looking forward to week 5 now

Even my Camellia thinks its Spring!!

Yay! Glad to have you back and running, limberlou. You know the drill now, so hopefully you will find it a lot easier. 👍 Building up slowly is always wise - we have to listen to our bodies. How wonderful to have a masseuse and Pilates teacher in the family!

Happy running. 😘

I know!! How lucky are we?? And she is lovely too!! She makes my son happy and she gets on with everyone else. She used to work with my daughter years ago in teaching. Now if I could just find a female electrician for my other son and a builder for my daughter I’d be set up 🤣😂

Camellia? You can get pills for that these days.

We’re keeping on par in our efforts, I’m off W4R3-ing tonight. its strange doing it all again. There’s almost the added dread of being worse this time.

Glad to hear the hip is nearly there. Break her in gently.

Ive had the pills - didn’t help 🤣

I know what you mean - I have to keep checking back to see how I did last time. Very competitive !! Even with myself!!

Now I know what is causing the hip issue I am using every exercise and stretch I can find to combat it. I did Pilates for years and was quite flexible but I’ve found my leg muscles have shortened with so much running so I am now working on that too. I used to easily be able to stand and fold in half and put my hands flat on the floor - not now!!! It’s a struggle to touch my fingertips.

You’re moaning to the wrong person. I can’t touch my knees without snapping ribs and vertibrae

Thanks. I bought 2 camellias, about 30 years ago, from Woolworths, and planted them along the same border about 3 feet apart. And this one is a lovely shape and always flowers early and is absolutely covered. The other one ,is much shorter with no long stem - grows very close to the ground, has beautiful dark green glossy leaves but flowers later and not so profusely and it is usually a really washed out pale pink. But 2 years ago and last year it has thrown up several crimson blooms randomly amongst the pale pink ones. Nature is so clever isn’t it?

Woolworths, that takes me back to buying records when I was a teenager! And indeed nature is very clever, and very much under-rated imo 🌸🌺😁
