Hi, just joined this site. I have just turned 50 and recently took my teenage son to a 5k run. Was genuinely shamed as I thought there is no way I could run 5k! Have not run for 30 years!
Enjoying the app and found week 3 ok. Bit apprehensive about week 4 but will worry about that tomorrow as rest day today!
Still can’t quite picture me running 5k non stop or without walking.
Have really found I need music to run to. Had much more fun making a running playlist to put on shuffle, than I did the first week of the runs on the app.
Thank heavens for The Wedding Present, Pixies, Reverend & Makers, Fatboy Slim last night! Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days are Over” really pushed me last night at the end.
Well done for getting going on C25K Chelwood, I'm 52 and was in quite a similar position. You've done probably the hardest weeks - getting off the couch and moving is quite a shock to the system, but hang on in there. The runs might be getting longer but the programme is preparing you for it, believe in it and you'll be there in no time. Don't be afraid of what's coming, embrace it and believe it!
Agree with the music, gotta have a good playlist on shuffle
