Hi, Iโ€™ve just down loaded this app hoping it will help me do more exercise which I need to do for my health. I am hoping to do my first run tomorrow morning, early before there are many people around so I wonโ€™t be seen ๐Ÿ˜‚. I just wish I was one of these people who go into the โ€˜zoneโ€™ but unfortunately I usually canโ€™t wait to finish ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚. Letโ€™s see what tomorrow brings

It can be difficult. It's easy to sit on the couch and do nothing, and therefore it can be hard to get off that couch and do something.

The power to change is in our hands.

Almost talked myself out of my workout today, but managed to regroup with "let's avoid the slipperly slope of doing nothing".

Don't worry bout anyone else and go for it and enjoy it

Perhaps when you have that buzz of knowing youโ€™ve done it. You got out there, given it a shot and let everyone here know? Itโ€™s a sense of achievement and itโ€™s totally down to you. You can do it and... you can enjoy it too ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the forum and well done on

your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

We can provide advice, support, encouragement and consolation, but motivation has to come from you.

Write a list of all the reasons why you are starting this and keep it handy to look at every time your enthusiasm flags.

I started with enthusiasm, but looking on it as a necessary evil, only to get hooked in a couple of weeks...........give it a good go and you may be the same.

Enjoy your journey.

I'm on week 1 run 3, first run I did alone and almost died.... and was disgusted how out of breath I was. My second run my little girl came with me, after I picked her up from school. I was worried as she runs with her dad too who can easily bang a 10k out no issues and there were still yummy mummy's around.....

...... we completed the run together I slowed down and found a good pace and hate to say I noticed a massive difference compared to the 1st run I also got a hi five from her and she told her dad I run faster than he does๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ. Make time, forget others, the only person that matters is you, and good on you for pushing yourself to start doing it! Run 3 is Saturday for me as I have huge work issues but I am actually feeling ok about when I next run! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

I just started this week too. I felt nervous before the first run but once I started it was ok.

It doesnโ€™t matter what anyone else thinks you are doing something great for yourself! Well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Early days for the zone. Try for a distraction. Music, podcast etc. Good luck with the programme ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Don't worry about everyone else. You'd probably be surprised at what they're thinking. It turns out that two of my neighbours are actually quite envious when they see me out running - not because I run like a gazelle, but because I've taken the effort to improve my health.

I always think it's a pity we can't see everybody slobbing about on their couch. I bet it's not a pretty sight.

Itโ€™s good to be able to look back as itโ€™s so easy to forget. Reading through this does bring it all into perspective ๐ŸŒป
