Week 8 run 2 - feeling tired

Managed my first 28 minute "run" - oh dear I'm sooo slow - barely made it to the end. I certainly didn't enjoy this one. I knew it was going to be tough before I started because I felt very tired after a day at work and even though I had my daughter with me for moral support and was well hydrated I struggled to keep going. Hopefully the next run will be better. Happy New Year to everyone and Happy Running!

oops I meant week 8 run 1. Wishful thinking that I'd already done it once! run 2 tomorrow :)

I did 8.1 yesterday and found it a lot easier than 7.3 I guess we all have good days and bad days. You did it anyway 😁

Well done Rigpig. We're nearly there now! :)

Been said before but...a bad run is always better than no run. Celebrate it - you did it & that's ace.

But you did keep going so massive congratulations

Well done on getting out there and doing it! It’s not about speed so don’t put extra pressure on yourself by worrying about how slow you go - I graduated in August and still can’t really manage 5k in much less than 50 minutes, but as long as I run it, I’m doing OK!

Thank you Oldgirlruns, I just have to keep going! Good luck with your running this year.

Slow is good silverflowers. We all have runs that don’t go as planned . Good luck with run 2 hope your not feeling as tired

Thanks Maz. I did run 2 today in the sunshine and it didn't go as badly as run 1. Seems like a long long time to keep going for though!

You will soon be happily running for 30 mins a time without thinking twice about it. Go nice and slow and take extra rest days if you feel it.

Oh I hope so!!

Well done silverflowers, great effort. I always struggled with one of the runs in the set of three. Excitable on the first, struggled on the 2nd consolidation run & relaxed on the 3rd run. Your body composition is changing. This rate of change is different for each of us. Think of your amazing running journey to date. Done fantastically well so far & should be revelling in your achievement. Everybody says go slow & slower still and that is exactly what you are doing. 👍😊 Happy New Year 🥳 Continue to enjoy your running in 2020 🥳👍

Thank you Vegout :) I know I've come a long way since I started and I hope I can keep it going this year. Happy running this year to you too!

Happy new year!

When you're tired before you start, it's always a tough run. But at least you still got out there and did it. You deserve a pat on the back just for that!

Now you know you can do it though. So you just need to do it two more times and you're into your graduation week!

Really well done!

I know - I feel like I am going to make it :) Feel partly excited and partly anxious whether I'll be able to keep my motivation going once I don't have Laura telling me firmly what to do and expecting things from me...!

You are absolutely going to make it. And we're all going to there, cheering you on!

Must admit, after graduating just before Christmas, I've now done 2 consolidation runs, and each time, I've just repeated Wk9 R3 to get me through it. I know I cant keep doing that forever, but it's working just now.

Thank you PartSloth. I feel I have come a long way... but there is a long long way to go and I just have to be patient. Happy running this year :)

I was hoping things were going to get a bit easier at some point! I just have to keep plodding on I guess :)

It's a strange point, it will get easier, maybe not right away but I promise you it will come 👍🏻😊

Thank you I just need to keep going, one run at a time, and be patient (and realistic -given my lungs are a bit rubbish - I'm never going to be speedy!)

You may have struggled but you did it, which is an amazing achievement. Well done! I hope you find your next run slightly easier! X
