I wasn’t really feeling it today, and contemplated putting it off until tomorrow. But I knew I’d regret it, so flicked the positivity switch and started to get ready. I’ve used both the app (without music) and the podcast so far, but the music on the podcast was annoying me. So I decided to try the app backed by amazon music, and found a running playlist to use....great, off I went. Also, I decided try try what a fellow W3 runner does (Alast) and extend the last run a bit in prep for W4, but only if I felt OK.
Music playing, Michael cut in and said to start the 5 min warm up walk, and off I went. I do the same route every time, so have a rough idea when the first run should start, however no Michael.....Fortunately I looked at my phone and sure enough I should have started the first run 10 seconds earlier. So I started running and switched the music off, and eventually Michael chipped in again at the end of the first run. He hadn’t abandoned me, he was just not cutting in over the music, and I don’t have it blasting!
Anyway all well and good from there on in. On the last 90 sec walk I set the countdown timer on my Fitbit to 5 mins and started it for the last run. After the 3 mins I’d got into a rhythm and felt great so I carried on and did the 5 mins. Then the timer again for the cool down walk, finished!
It was a bit of a palaver with the app, music, timers, etc, but I thoroughly enjoyed at and feel great. Now for 2 rest days and onwards to W4, after which I have promised myself some new shoes if I manage to complete it 😁
Have a great day folks!

Well done, Michael abandoned us on one run I never thought it might have been the music as it never happened again, look forward of a photo of your new shoes when you get them, new shoes are always a treat to run in
WoW! Well done Wenderwoo, that's brilliant. A double well done for pushing yourself out there even tough you didn't want to do it to start with. It sounds as if you found it easy too, despite your music/app problem, so I suppose that means a treble well done. Then, as you also managed a 5 minute run at the end, a quadruple well done from me You've certainly earned your two days rest basking in the double glow of a) knowing you've completed week 3, and b) knowing you can manage the 5 minute runs for next week.
I have just been browsing tomorrows weather forecasts (trying to find a forecaster who tells me what I want to hear!) as I should be doing my W3R3 tomorrow morning but the weather is looking so foul (apart from 1 forecast) I've been considering postponing until Sunday. (This will also mean I'll have to run Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday next week, but that shouldn't be a problem). Now I see what you went through today I feel that I should just knuckle down, download the distraction music I've prepared, to listen to on my 'phone & go out tomorrow and get week 3 ticked off...
Thanks! I now totally get what you mean about preparing for the next week. I usually have some dread starting a new week, but hopefully I won’t now. With regard to your run tomorrow I’d play it by ear. I’ve run in the rain and it’s been quite exhilarating, but it wasn’t that heavy. See how you feel in the morning 😁
Wow, well done once again Wenderwoo! 👍👏👏 Your positivity switch obviously does work very well. So great that you did that extra 5 min run, you must be so proud of yourself!! Seems that you have a real runner inside you that can't wait to finally come out. 🙂👍
Well done. Yay, knew you could do it. Maybe you should adapt the post offices adage. Come wind, come rain, I shall , I shall come a running, Burning my own trail. Giggles adapts it to our own version.
It is a palaver to sort out apps and music 🎶 especially if you are rushing a bit. So far I’ve been ok using Spotify for music but tracking steps is going my head in!!!
