Good afternoon all, well good morning for the folks in England.

I just finished the run for this week. Wondering if I am going too slow though as I am only jogging and I know I can run faster. But I don’t think my fitness level is good enough for the faster pace. So keeping it slow. Started at a slow run at 6.5km.h and did the latter runs at 7.0. Still think it’s very slow but for me. I think it’s all I can manage. Also, I think it is harder to run slower. Anyone else noticed that?

Hope everyone has success with the runs today. Onward and upward. Week 3 hear we come.

Great you got to the end of wk2. Keep going at what you call your slow pace it what will keep getting you to the end of each run. As you say you can go faster but you maybe to exhausted to finish . Well done you 😊

I noticed I am sweating less. My clothes are no longer sticking to me like glue.

These are fast times especially at this stage. C25k aims to get you running 30mins not 5k in 30mins so dont worry about speed just now. You are doing great

Yes I know, I suspect by week nine I will be running for 30 minutes, but only covering 2.5 km

There's a post about this from a couple of days ago with over 40 responses - relax and read it. At your stage I thought I'd be taking 50mins for my 5k, 2days after graduation I ran a 5k race with 1600 others. I did it in 34mins. Your speed really does change over the 9 weeks. Only 10% reach 5k in 9 weeks. Some never do. In my race very many people finished way after the 50min mark. Celebrate the fact you are doing this and worry about times if you want to after graduation. Happy running

There isn’t any too slow, slow is great and your slow is faster than us. After graduation we tried to speed up a bit and uh oh, i got blisters and Willow limped home on a sore knee so you see how good slow is we can cover 5k in under fifty minutes now which is very slow but very satisfying

I've no idea what my times will be, but I did wonder the same I.e. will I get close to 5k.

I've decided I'm not going to worry about that.

I'm just going to focus on building up to running for 30 minutes, no matter how far.

Once I've achieved that, then instead of trying to run for longer, I'm going start to focus on building up my speed.

Then when I'm happy with my speed, I'll push my duration.

Of course, this is all just hypothetical.

I need to get to the end of wk 1 first 😆

Well done peskymousie1 ...well done for finishing week 2!!! Running slow is absolutely fine...what you have to remember is that if you start the run fast you could burn yourself out and end up disappointed because you haven't quite managed it...better to start off slowly, its not a race, its your run and you must do what feels comfortable. Once you graduate that's the time to work on pace and distance. I know what you mean about it being hard to run slow...the speed podcast (you'll find these useful after graduation) has you running to a certain beat and I feel like i'm in a cartoon!!

After my experience this week (you’ll see in my post) I think slow is the way to go! Well done.....onwards and upwards to W3 for both of us 😁

But I’m glad I’ve got 2 days off 😊

🐌 running is best for building up fitness & stamina, reducing risk of injury, and easy on the breathing! Time to speed up is after graduation when your body is fit and ready!
