Week 6 Run 3 Yesssssss!

Just thought I would post back after completing my 25 min run and I feel great.

Gremlins been bugging my brain since I completed run 2 but overcame them and went for it.

Sticking to 8kmph which I know is slow for most but hopefully its gets me to 30 mins.

Background is I am 51yo and just over 6ft and weighed 19 stone at the beginning of summer. Now down to 15st 12lb with a change of lifestyle. Last killer still to go is smoking, but now i am asking myself how far can i go when i stop that on Mon!

Appreciate all the support on here as it really does help the mind πŸ‘πŸ‘

25 minutes non stop that's brilliant. Yiu should be so pleased. Your pace is working for you stick at it. You may think you're slow but that is what will get you to the end of each run. Also what an amazing weight loss . Keep running it will help even more with fitness / weight loss. 😊😊

Thanks again for the support.

In relation to weight loss all I do now is eat between 12 and 8 (no calorie counting etc) and more healthily. I don't find it difficult anymore its just a way of life for me now.

I hope to hit 14 stone and with muscle toning that should be a good weight for me.

My my aim is to get to finishing the course injury free and then keep my pace but keep running to reach 5k at whatever time it takes.

My problem wasn't really food I developed a chocolate addiction after stopping smoking. I put on 4st 6lbs . Now lost 3 1/2 so just a bit to go and the running is helping massively

That's a huge loss also and I am sure you feel a lot better for it as I do. Well done πŸ‘ The last bit is always the hardest so I keep hearing but your nearly there 😁

The C25K has given me the incentive to achieve my goals quicker and healthier.

Congratulations on your weight loss CanIrun5K, also, why wait until Monday to stop smoking, have your last ciggy today.

Well done on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, onwards and upwards to week 7 which are all 3/25 minute runs.

Love your username, you soon WILL be able to run a 5K. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Thanks for the support.

I got 2 nights out before Monday so that last "ciggy" would be unrealistic for me. However I know that I WILL do it on Mon. One step at a time a bit like this program. I will post back after my last one. I think my last one will be before wk7R1 on Sun. I will carry the good feeling forward after my 2nd 25 min run hopefully.πŸ‘πŸ‘

Good luck for your runs and your last cigarette on Monday.

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΌπŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸΌ Well done. You’ve proved for sure you can stick to a plan once you commit, so that bodes well for kicking the ciggy habit too. Hard but SO worthwhile. I hope the Running Bug helps - many folks say yes to that. And 8km is not so slow! If I could reliably run at 8:00, I would be cheering! 🐒 All the best with all of it. Well done you. πŸ‘

Thanks for the support.

I think sticking to my runs and my change of lifestyle bodes well for finally quiting smoking.

Mind over matter and I am sure I will win πŸ‘

I am not that bothered about the speed as I am sure it will come with fitness.

It just means I will need to get to 37.5 mins of running to achieve 5k.

When I get to 30 mins of running I will try and increase my pace by 0.5kmph each week or every second week. I will look for advice at that point.

If I can get to 10kmph and 5k in 30 mins I will be amazed 😁

You sound like a good Planner. 😊 When you finish C25k, one of the lovely Mentors will send you a link to information about things you might want to contemplate next. Plenty of time for all that. Enjoy your running & best of luck all round. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thanks that is why I joined the forum. Love your name as it sums up my speed 😁

The info and support is free and priceless.

Trying to figure all this out on your own as a non runner would be very difficult or worse put you in hospital 🀣🀣
