4th Parkrun, 3rd full 5k, and a PB!! 😍

Oh wow... As well as being totally stunned and so complimented by a much more experienced runner coming up to me afterwards and saying I had a great pace and I think they were even using me for pacing. I later on got my results, and it was a PB of 33.56!! 😍 I may have come 274 in position but 8th for my age category of VM50-54 😁 I have been rather naughty and overdoing it of late though. I know I should be sticking to 30 minute consolidation runs after recently graduating but on my second run this week I lost track of time then decided to continue and try a 5k again which took me around 36 minutes, and then today was of course a park run on which I just had to do a full run...πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ Who had thought it that around 11 weeks ago I struggled to run 1 minute! This plan really does work!! 😍 And as for all the support from you lot... β™₯️

Brilliant stuff, well done you! ☺ Do be careful not to overdo it though - maybe a nice relaxed, just for fun, run next time - no fun on the Injury Couch!

Due to busy weekends away for the next two weeks I will only be able to stick to 2 runs a week for a while, and sadly no parkruns. But yes I will try to slow down.

Brilliant you must feel so chuffed! I think c25k prepares you to do 5k even if you don't make the distance on your graduation run. But if you've done 3 30 minute runs at, say 4.5 km you are absolutely ready to do 5k.

Thanx. Thats kinda how i saw it. Only 5 more minutes running on average to cover that golden 5k after a 30 minute run. And today would be my 4th run after graduation.

Oh I am, I am... I really did feel like a runner and realised I am a much healthier person today. And the great thing is I seem to be influencing people to have a go themselves when they see what i do on social media. Today after my finished run I saw a friend go past on her first parkrun, she mostly walked it and I joined her for the last k and ran along side her as she did a jog through the finish line. And all because she heard about it from me. Was a lovely surprise to see her there. I told her to try C25k and join this group for great encouragement and advice ;)

I wasn't at a parkrun today, however, I did go for a 5K run near to where I live, just after I completed the run in the quickest time I have ran it locally 31.45 (only my PB of 30.55 can beat that at a parkrun 3 weeks ago) I met two runners who were running week 1 of C25K, I shouted back at them wishing them well on their running journey.
