Heard somewhere that running up hills is good for stamina, so, spent a good 40 minutes running round rugby pitches and 7 times repeatedly up and down a hill last night whilst my son was rugby training.

A beautiful evening, another rugby mum was running too; it felt really good.

Running up hills on grass is easier on the knees than running on pavements.

Let's hope Park Run is abit easier this week.

Find a parkrun with at least one steep hill, that will be great for your stamina. 😊

My local PR has a "B" course used in wet weather which includes a hill. It's grim. But may be better this winter....

Thank you .....but it was pants! Felt really good beforehand, had an excellent nights sleep too. Lovely fresh morning. But really ran out of steam and finished in my usual 40 minutes +. Was hoping to do sub 40.

So depressing today.

This is my weekend off running I go every 2 weeks. You are out running on a Saturday morning I think you should be so pleased no matter what your time 😊

Running up hills strengthens your middle. It tones it up too 😃🙂

I live in a very hilly area, but have managed to find a 2.5km stretch that is flat - nobody round here would believe me that there is that much without a hill! I feel like I’m doing really well at the moment (W8R2 tomorrow), and am reluctant to do anything that might hinder my progress.

So I’m now having the debate of how I define progress. Is it better for “progress” to carry on running on flat and graduate quicker, or better to perhaps repeat some runs but be a better runner.

I’ve answered my own question I think, I always do that on here; I’ve said before it’s a great place for personal reflection! 🤣
