FFS, life, what next?!

Having literally Just got over my issue with my wonky hip, etc and been delighted to be slowly building up a bit of fitness and getting back to running again, life has thrown more lemons at me! What started out as a very nasty, persistent headache has turned out to be a bleed on the brain, requiring an operation and recovery here at Kings College Hospital... Yes, I am literally typing from my hospital bed and wondering whether I should have a week or two off from Parkrun... Gah, so frustrating but I'm not going to be deterred! 😂 Just glad I got seen in good time and feeling very grateful for the NHS...

Glad you are ok that's the main thing. Look after yourself and I wish you a speedy recovery. Get well soon🤞🤞

Thanks, Buddy34, am already feeling much better than I was. It's just all been such a shock, I think my mind is still processing what's happened. Doesn't help that I was really out of it when I was first admitted so there are chunks of time that I just don't remember!

Just checking in you're ok and recovering well 😊😊

Debs! I'm so sorry my lovely, thank goodness it's been spotted. The NHS is bloody brilliant at times like this, sending you (((hugs))) xx

You are certainly in the right place!.

So sorry about this, but you will recover and get back to fitness.

Be patient, and you can't rush your recovery ( stern voice!)

Get well soon. X 💐💐

Sorry to hear about your bleed in the brain Debston, I hope you recover soon, however, I don't think that you should run a parkrun yet, you just can't leave the hospital and run a parkrun the first Saturday, you will have to wait until the doctor gives you clearance that you have completely recovered.

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply to AlMorr

Thanks, AlMorr and don't worry, I'll be sensible and wait until fully recovered before putting my running shoes back on x

AlMorr profile image

That is very sensible of you Debston, I think that is the very first reply I have had from someone in hospital, I will now send you a "virtual get well card" 😊🏃get well soon👍

Oh debs ! Just be grateful that they found it and it didn't get to be anything nastier.

I think it's all happening together so you can get it all over with at once ! Then normal service will be resumed no doubt.

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply to backintime

😂I like your theory and I expect at least ten years of absolutely no issues whatsoever!

I'm sure that's what's around the corner

backintime profile image

Did they say what caused it ?

Debston profile image
DebstonGraduate in reply to backintime

No, that's the really weird thing, it was consistent with a head injury but I haven't had one!

Good to hear that you’re in one of the best places in the world right now. Get well soon, and yeah, maybe not running parkrun for a couple of weeks would be good... but you can still walk it, or marshal it, so you can get a fix of parkrun a different way if needs be. Concentrate on getting back to 100%, they’ll tell you if you can go running so long as you ask. Get well soon.
