Back to my starting weight...

No, I haven't been grazing the buffet continuously since my last post...

Prompted by a conversation on here the other day about weight loss, my PT and I thought we'd do a little experiment and photo with some kettlebells that take me back up to my starting weight. Blimey - I don't know how I could even walk, let alone live life to the full!

Now I'm not saying C25k has been the only change I've made to my life... but weight loss is all about calorie deficit. Even at the early stages, C25k gave me just enough calories back to be able to have little treats rather than feeling I was on a full-on diet. And it also made me fitter and gave me more energy. And because I'm fitter, I do more, which uses up more calories and makes me fitter which means I do more etc....

I won't bore you all again with exactly what I did to get here, but if anyone wants a chat, do feel free to PM me.

ps - as of this morning, I'm in my target stone (i.e. below 13st for the first time in 25 years)

Wow, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your new slim self + kettle bells next to starting weight photo really shows how far you've come.

Good job well done Pianism 👍🏃😀

Actually, I was a stone heavier than that photo but I wouldn't allow a camera near me!

Fantastic and very well done. You have done amazingly well and look great.

Losing weight is hard work, putting weight on is all too easy. I have been running away and feeling great but was not really watching my calorie intake like I was a few weeks ago. I managed to put on a few pounds which I’d previously lost which puts me outside my target stone again. So I’m back on the healthy eating regime again and watching what I’m eating.

I was in a gym a few months ago and lifted a bar bell with two 5 Kg weights on either end. I’d have struggled to carry that weight around a 5K course, yet I did at one time, plus a little more.

It's amazing when you load yourself back up with weights and try to move - don't know how we ever coped. But it's shocking how easy it is to put weight back on...

Buddy34 profile image

You look amazing. I know it's not all about how you look it's about being so much fitter. For me I hated being overweight and my problem was too much chocolate. So I stopped it started brisk walking then c25k and I can honestly say I feel so much better with a 3st 5lb weight loss.

Well done you 😊😊

Wow well done Buddy, you have done so well too. That’s brilliant progress and weight loss.

It's always been said eat less move more. I'm so glad I took up running with c25k it's so helped me get rid of the weight and keep it off. Just a wee bit more to be done but I know I can do it with running . 😊😊

Wow, 3st5lb is epic! Well done you! It's not all about how I look, but that really does help. :)

I struggle to pick up suitcases that have less than my weight loss. A good reminder. I found my balance is so much better since I lost weight. Still clumsy but fewer bruises.

Pianism profile image

I'm not sure any amount of weight loss will make me less clumsy (Thursday's disaster a case in point!!)

Crazy isn't it!? I frequently think about the 36lbs I shed, no wonder it was hard cycling up the hills! 🤣🤣🤣

You've done so great. You're right, it's all about the deficit but the activity allows enough treats that it doesn't feel like punishment 👍🏻😁

Well done Sir - I’ve only just started on the same journey so this will act as a great pick me up post when mojo is low 😁

Pianism profile image

Thank you. It definitely can be done, and actually it hasn't even felt that hard. I think just knowing it's possible and sustainable has made all the difference to me. I'm definitely no fitness freak and I most certainly don't just eat lettuce (I shall be having a full Sunday lunch and a few beers tomorrow). I haven't shifted at all in my excesses... but I've adjusted my "normal" to make up for them. All the very best with your own journey.... it's amazing what a difference 8 months has made to me.

Well done to you Pianism, my self I have not changed anything other than doing C25K and lost 1 1/2 stone from end of February 2019 so am currently going through blood tests and scans to just make sure nothing sinister as I didn’t need to lose the weight just tone up as I wasn’t over weight. It’s scary when the medics agree and say your back at the weight you was back in 1979 so good luck with hitting your targets.
