So thrilled to finally have completed the C25k and an actual 5K Parkrun. Did the programme 3 yrs back but never got to 5k but did get to 30 mins. Never got to a parkrun as lost my mojo at the end then got ill. This time with the illness I have completed C25K again and was only making 3.2km in 30 mins so the Park run today was a big achievement. I ran for 38 minutes! (not sure of exact time) and ran 5K! Can you tell Im pleased. Cant wait to have another go as im used to running alone so was new experience and I was tired beforehand so be nice to ho again knowing Ive done before! Now to find a gentle maintenance plan to keep me going as last time this is near where I stopped completely. Any advice very welcome. I was thinking of keeping 3 runs a week 1x 15mins 1 x 25 and 1 x Parkrun? Thanks for the support along the way. 🌚

Thanks for the info. Lots of good advice there and lots to digest. Was thinking id do the 'stepping stone' podcast next but can should i still be doing 3 X 30 mins a week for a few weeks or will that be too much? Not sure if i should be changing it up a bit ?

The idea of consolidation is to become comfortable with the level you have attained, so rather than push the boundaries of speed or duration, just run for fun until it becomes second nature. That said, there are no rules........apart from the 10% rule.

I’m so happy for you. Genuinely very well done. What an amazing way to finish the plan. Parkrun is the reason why I still run. It’s amazing.
