Hi, just completed week 4 run 1, was better than I thought just took it mega slow (my son thought it was hilarious as he could plod along faster than my run/jog)
Anyway I am curious to know what do people do if it’s really chucking it down. Luckily it stopped before my run this evening, but all day I kept looking out the window thinking I am/am not going to run.
I am keen to stick to same days every week but wonder if I should adjust if weather is awful. Or am I just making excuses!
I’ve ran my last 3 runs in the rain from light drizzle to torrential. My decision is based on whether it’s raining before I go out. If it’s light I go, if not I don’t. However if I’m already out there I just keep going cos I don’t want to let it beat me ☺️ I wear glasses which causes problems with vision but if I take them off my eyesight is bad anyway so I just keep wiping them on my sopping wet clothes. My running shoes are full mesh so literally squishing. But my family are in awe at my dedication even though I’m barely going faster than a hedgehog and would probably squish one without knowing it. I figure summer rain is refreshing but winter rain will be hell.

Nice that your 12-year-old son keeps you safe, I prefer to run when it's not raining, talking about sons and daughters, it's amazing how many father and son, mother and daughter run at park runs, they really are a family gathering for all, I read the news about one particular parkrun where the 15-year-old son run a sub 17 minute 5k, the father and mother ran around 20 minutes and another sister and brother ran in the same run at around 25 minutes, a really running family.
A baseball cap/ running cap keeps the rain off your glasses. 😃

I am so slow but enjoying it, just need to stop checking the weather app every 5 minutes!
I'll head out if it's raining pretty hard; I love a rainy run. Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever had a bad run in the rain - I find it stops me from mulling on my breathing or heavy legs or whatever.
Plus, I know I'm giving passing motorists a good laugh at the crazy woman running in the bouncing rain 😆
I love running in the rain. Especially in the woods. I even switch off the music to hear the falling rain drops in the leaves. I have a cap with a peak which keeps the drops out of my eyes, and a light showerproof jacket, and these definitely help, but it’s glorious being out in the rain. Wind however is the devil’s own weather. Running into the wind is a nightmare!

It’s due to rain on weds for next run so may just go for it.
I love running in the rain as long as my torso is dryish so I wear a light, breathable waterproof jacket & a baseball style cap to keep the rain off my glasses. 😀
There is something wonderful about being out there in the elements - makes me feel extra alive!!😂
First... go for a run in 20+ degrees... then you will absolutely love running in the rain! I always used to keep out of the rain...but not now!
Nope. I am a total sook, so running in the rain is always a no from me. I just get frustrated with the water in your eyes, and then the dog gets that wet dog smell, and everything is just so much messier than when it is dry. But clearly some people love it 
Luckily for me I am in Australia, so its not often that I have to actually postpone a run due to the rain - usually if I just wait an hour or so it clears up. I more often have to postpone due to heat rather than rain!
Rain is just wet.. and can be refreshing... I don't mind it.. and if it rains whilst you are out you don't have a choice... I do find going out in torrential rain, a tad more tricky and I tried twice on Sunday to head out, but the hills were streaming and the bottom road in my village was flooded. I did go back home as I was soaked through and it was quite dangerous running!

I do believe it’s nice to run in the rain but I’ve avoided it so far. I think I’ve been lucky to be a fair weather girl. No doubt I’ll be out there getting soaked through one day.
