Week 4 non starter :(

Feeling a bit deflated right now unlike my knee! Just over a week ago I slipped on one of my daughters toys & over extended/hyperextended(?) my right leg after the usual language one uses on such occasions I thought: "It'll be fine, must stay on task!" (I've developed this mindset as I'm in pain often & am frequently fatigued due to fibromyalgia). So off I went on my week 3 run 3, completed it but once I rested for a while my knee really began to hurt.

So fast forward a week & a half of going stir-crazy just sitting around. I thought I'd give week 4 run 1 a go. I head out on my warm up walk, brisk whereas I had been taking this slow & steady since injury, then the first 3 minute run. Managed to do that with pain steadily increasing then 90 seconds of relative respite ah, what? 90 seconds past already?! Ok, then here we go 5 minutes. I took a couple of strides & had to admit defeat & hobble home lol.

So I'll commit to upper body strength training & cycling for a while (cycling I can manage, I'm guessing it's the lack of impact). Besides being delayed on the Cto5k program I've also been challenged for most weekly steps on garmin connect...TWICE! Well I'm going to have to drop a mulligan, much to my chagrin!....I'll be back ladies, mark my words!!

Maybe a trip to the doctor to get your knee checked out . As you have already rested it and when you start running its sore again😊

Yep the mrs made me go to a&e had an xray, the bones are fine, the dr at the hospital put it down to bruised meniscus (c shaped cartilage shock absorber between femur & tibia) told me to see my gp to see if I need some physio so will make an appointment tomorrow. Cheers :)

Sorry to hear this, hopefully it’ll settle soon. Have you seen anyone about it?

When I got the Garmin I was in a battle with someone on the weekly steps challenge, it seemed every time I moved they moved almost exactly the same steps on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so I went out Saturday and hit them with a 5k walk, 10k run and 5k cooldown walk... they didn’t put many steps in over that weekend 🤣

Ty, I must admit I was going to rest it until the pain had gone but the challenge came through & made me put my game face on...it soon came off again XD

I walked like a LOT lol & won my challenges! 186,830 steps in a week, 50,000 on the last day, damn my legs were aching yesterday!
