Well done for starting - that's the difficult bit out of the way! It took me a year from downloading the app to actually starting....

You'll get loads of support on here, we've all been in your shoes. Enjoy it and you'll amaze yourself πŸ‘

Thank you oddity, what I needed to hear, sounds so simple but those 60 seconds seemed to feel like a hour 😒

Well done Shelly. You'll look back on this moment in a few weeks and laugh when you're doing 5 minutes at a time.

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ well done you! Seriously you will look back and laugh....we all did and found W1 the hardest! Welcome aboard and enjoy, I’ve just done 25 minutes this morning but 25 seconds, never mind 60, would have been a nightmare a few weeks back!!

That run tried to kill me 8 times too... welcome to the W1R1 survivors club. You’ve taken the first step and the hardest run of this plan and you did great.

Slow down as much as you can and it will get easier... this is about getting to 30 minutes of running... 30 minutes isn’t shorter if you do 10k or 3k... relax and run it comfortably. You can do this... enjoy your journey.

Welcome! Excellent effort- that run is hard but you made a great decision and the hardest part is over. Now on to run 2! - trust in the programme and drink loads every day to keep hydrated. You will love the sense of achievement that each week brings. πŸ™‚

Congratulations! You’ve completed the hardest run, I turned the air blue with swearing when I was asked if I was ready to run that first day. You be surprised how quickly you can feel yourself making progress and getting fitter. Trust the program, it does work very well, in no time at all you’ll be joining us all at Parkrun for your 5k on a Saturday morning.

Well done for getting started on the C25K programme, great decision even if it doesn't feel that way yet! The first run is definitely the trickiest part of the whole programme. You'll be amazed by what you can achieve in just a few weeks. ☺

Well done - I think that run is the hardest - the whole decision of starting and discovering that 60 seconds can be so loooooong lol

read the links that IannodaTruffe posted and as mentioned, stay hydrated

also, slow down, it isn't a race, you can run those 60s at any pace that allows you to run the 20 minutes - slow or fast it doesn't matter, but you should be able to talk (or if you're on your own try and sing, lol)

I’ll try singing but get ready for the rain β˜”οΈ thank you 😊

Amazing, well done you! I found the first week so hard too but it has got better. Plus you're already further ahead than I was as I didn't join this forum until a few days ago! There's so much encouragement and good advice on here. You'll do just great. X

Yes it’s hard but don’t give up. The first run killed me as well but in a few weeks time, that 1 minute run will feel like nothing at all.

Welcome to the runners. The hardest part is starting, the next hardest is going out again in 48 hours or so, and after that it gets easier every time. I had to do the first week twice, I just could not run 8x60 seconds - I managed 2x...

So you can consider yourself pretty amazing.
