The paradox of running

Sometimes the best runs happen when you wouldn’t expect it. I woke up this morning with a food hangover after a huge dinner last night with guests + finishing off left-overs after they’d gone + a kitkat for good measure...(why?...) Anyway, hating myself I decided to do something that makes me hate myself less - go for a run! I graduated recently so am currently pushing the 30 minute runs a bit further each run and I actually ran 40 minutes today and clocked up 4.5k, without too much effort. Amazed! It’s yet more evidence that running can turn around a down day. It’s like I’ve found a new tool for restoring self esteem and boosting positivity. Handy! Thank you C25K and all you folk who got me through to the stage I’m at, with many struggles of motivation. Those of you still on the journey, keep at it - if it can help me, it will help you too!

Great way to burn off some excess fuel! That kit kat could have aided the digestion too! Congratulations on reaching 40 minutes.

It’ll come... today you were a lap of a track and a Usain bolt run from it... just 500m... the way you’re going it won’t be long.

Great! I’ve definitely benefited hugely from this programme. I’m nearly 57, struggle with my weight, and get stressed but everything has become calmer and happier since I’ve become a runner.

Hi there! Yes - I think I responded to someone else who graduated at the same point rather than post a new post. I’m really enjoying the runs now - I’m focused on getting ready for that 5k on 22 August in North Uist. Bit scary but very motivating! Half my pupils will be there so need to make a good impression...😳You still thinking of coming over?
