I started on Saturday with Parkrun - and achieved a personal best 😁
Then did Junior Parkrun with the eldest grandsprocket yesterday, and didn’t hear a single moan (the route goes past the playground twice, that’s hard on a 4 year old). 😁😁
Today is my actual birthday, and I was determined to do my [getting faster] plan’s long run in it’s entirety as close to pace as I could (never been more delighted to find that that, mostly, wasn’t too hard). This aim was nearly scuppered before it began because I had forgotten that MapMyFitness deletes their plans as soon as the scheduled finish date is past and not when you mark all the runs as done 😒
However, I knew the time limit: 59 mins and 53 seconds 🤣 & the pace: 7:29/k because that’s what all the long runs have been recently. Luckily - because I’d got rather behind - I wrote the rest of the plan out not long ago when I was trying to figure out which weeks were exactly the same as the previous week so I could skip those ones, while still staying faithful to the spirit of the thing, so now I just have to remember how to set them up manually on the app.
This write up’s alternative title is ‘Park, Nemesis, Pavement, Park (pavement)’ as the other thing I wanted to do was run up my local nemesis chalk hill without stopping, which I did \o/ - though obviously not at pace 😉
Final score? Just short of 8k (7.99!) in an hour
